Detailing New Car

Hi Guys

I'll be taking delivery of my new black car next week. i've insisted no '5yrs paint protection system' as i know is total bs. will be doing the paint protection myself.

Planning to drive the car straight from the dealership to home and start the detail. Since the pre delivery includes a polish, I will be giving the car only a wash and start applying paint protection.

Am i doing this right? Any advice?

Thanks in advance

Well my advice is tell the dealer that if they touch the paint prior to delivery the deal is off. YOu dont want the dealer polishing you paint. They might leave some nice buffer halograms in your paint which are hard to remove. When you get home your going to want to wash using the 2 bucket method (search that) and then clay the vehicle (search) and then wash again. You could also clay while you wash. IF your car is in good condition i think you can use a light polish and then move onto a sealent and or wax. With detailing prep is the key.

DON'T let them polish it before you take delivery!!! :bigscream

Then follow the steps as outlined by Greg above.

And enjoy!!

What are you getting??

Wow! I Luvv Quick Replies!

Going to call the dealer to "FREEZE! drop the polisher and take 3 steps back!"

I'm getting 05 WRX STI Obsidian Black with Gold Rims.

Thanks again!

Do not let the dealer polish the paint. You also do not need to wash after claying...just be sure to wipe the lube off throughout the process.
