Detailing is my hobby & my passion!!!

Last Sunday, I did a complete detail on my 2001 Grand Prix. It looked BRAND NEW.

I was out of town this week and my wife called me and said:

"You're going to be mad at me." "I got caught in the rain in your car!"

I simply replied......."Good, that means I'll get to detail it again!":D

Very few people understand this mentality, but I know THE AUTOPIANS will!!!

6 hours of detailing is like running a marathon! Great Cardio!!! (people don't understand that either).

Just wanted to share.

:D Great post!!!

I feel the same way more and more about detailing. I think in the near future after watching some detailers work that I'll purchace my own PC and even start a small (VERY SMALL  ) weekend "business." If only I had a larger area in which to work...my garage is CRAMPED.

Hi,

Constantly looking for a chance to "do" something on my car:bounce

Oh,

my neighbours & friends allso think I'm crazy

and I like it that way:wavey

Yep, although it's a real bone of contention with the live-in gf...

I guarantee, if you do something very special that's focused on her, she won't have any problem with your detailing hobby! :xyxthumbs

I've found that an occaisional flower delivery or surprize package from the jewelry store works wonders. (Even dinner at her favorite resturaunt)...

I'm the exact same way.

I have an 800 mile rally this weekend and I already know what I'll be doing at least one of the days next weekend!:D

Yeah, neighbors gave me a bad time about detailing my GP on Fathers Day, "Why are YOU doing that?" Told them, this is my Fathers Day wish, by myself, in the garage, detailing my car! Love my family but enjoy my time on the car......

Ha! That was one of my fathers day gifts as well, plus some more zaino of course. My wife couldn't understand why I wanted to do work on fathers day. I even did her car when I was done mine. It's a great work out and time alone :)

you know for the first few weeks, I don't think my g/f got it either. But then I started detailing her car. Now she doesn't say a word, because she knows when I'm done with the Accord, I'll make her car pretty :)

Detailing has been my natural Paxel for over 30 years. Even with a high pressure vocation I know that I can find supreme peace by detailing one of my vehicle and standing back and admiring the results. :D

Now recharged for another day. :bounce

I never minded devoting the time and effort to do what ever it took to get the car looking just right. BUT up until I discovered Autopia I was always disappointed and frustrated with the results....not any longer! I've learned so much on this site that I now look at the finished result with astonishment knowing that I'm now able to accomplish what I tried to get to for so many years to acieve. And yes, I consider it an opportunity, not a chore, when I get the chance to 'get it right' all over again.

Detailing is an exercise in expressing one self. :D :D

When my car looks great, I feel great! It is physical, it is mental, it is to me a way of being.

Thanks to everyone here for all of the help, and especially the camaraderie that I always find here. :bow

Cheers,

My Black 7 Series

Well I dont really think of detailing as exerciseing. But I really enjoy doing it and looking at the results after .Do you ever go outside and just look at your stunning job. ?

Yes!!!:o

My detailing garage is part of my first level ( finished basement). I just walk thru the family room and laundry and BAM --- Total satisfaction! :bounce

If I really need a "pick-me-up" I walk out back to the "classics" home (garage) and just drift into an Autopian haze. :D
