An old client of mine stopped by to show me his car. I was excited because he hunted me down to detail his car again. I used to detail his cars and boat regularly when I worked for Fountain Powerboats. He said he was having trouble finding a quality detailer, but it wasn't until he brought his car over that I understood the magnitude of his situation....
He brought his 2006 G35 over to show me the problems. He paid a mobile detailer $100 to detail his car while he was at work.
It was hard to capture the swirls and holograms with the cloudy sky on this pearl white paint, but it looks like the detailer used a rotary and damaged the paint. When I saw what happened to the roof, I really felt for the guy.
The detailer left without notifying him of the damage, and hasn't returned any phone calls. If this isn't a detailing horror story, I don't know what is.
He took the G35 to a body shop and showed me the quote.
He said the detailer never touched the wheels either.
The car is going into the paint booth today, but I reassured him his G35 would be pampered when it gets to me. I just wanted to share an example of "you get what you pay for".
p.s. I'd like to publicly thank his wife for the amazing plate of food she sent over too
