Detailing efforts today...

Well, today I FINALLY got around to doing a major "winter detail" on the Cobra. Before anyone gets their hopes up... No, I don't have any pics. Forgot the digital camera and it was dark by the time I was finished anyways.... Sheesh, what sort of Autopian am I?? :nixweiss :nono Maybe I'll take some tomorrow and post them, but until then, here's what I did:

- ~50:1 diluted Megs APC on wheels

- Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo (washed wheels)

- Pinnacle Polyclay (whole car and windows and plastics)

- Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo

- Eagle One Tire Wet (applied with swipes)

- Klasse AIO (2 applications for each body panel by PC 7424)

- Klasse HGSG (1 coat applied by hand; wowo method; worked like a charm I might add)

- Plexus (headlights/taillights/exposed plastic mouldings)

- Rain X (all exterior windows)

- Luster Lace (exhaust tubing)

- Stoner's Invisible Glass (all interior windows)

I know, I know... I didn't properly seal the chrome wheels... Don't worry, they'll be getting some specialized attention after my birthday (Jan 19) thanks to a new floor jack, jack stands, torque wrench and socket set! :xyxthumbs

Anyways, I actually was only posting this to ask a question:

I love the Klasse twins and I will probably use them on EVERY car I have from here on out, but I do have 1 complaint about AIO only: What's with the dust?? No matter what I do, I always end up finding some static-cling AIO remnants left somewhere on the car.

Anybody got a remedy for that??

I'll try to get some pics up tomorrow... Thanks in advance for the responses, ladies and gents :xyxthumbs

I spray Sonus Acrylic Spritz on the pad that I use with the AIO. That helps with that. Why do you use AIO twice? I would use a light polish before instead on twice with the AIO. Just wondering?

I always let the SG sit on the car for 24 hrs. Or at least do the whole car at one time and then remove. It dries and coats better.

Everybody talkes about the static cling with AIO. I never have that problem.

I took some VERY quick and improptu shots today at lunch. The car is slightly dirty due to the freakin dew, but I will post the results later this evening.

So, as promised here are the quick pics I snapped during my lunchbreak today (please excuse the road dirt and whatnot):

Oh yes, very nice detail and car :)

:up

Oh and regarding your question about AIO (not that I use it) but with some products if you work them too much they become dry and start to dust, could this be your problem, perhaps not using enough of the product, or overworking it?

I know I thought I used a lot of product until I read this thread posted by Mosca

http://www.autopia.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=49110

and then I realised I wasn't using anywhere like the amount I should.

Just a thought and my opinion, hope you don't mind.

Verrrry Nice! Nothings better than black!

Put some P21S or Pinnacle wax on that! Or did ya?

Anyways it looks awesome. It makes me wish my car is black!
