Detailing a White Car

My car is solid white. After washing it today, I noticed that is has lots of black and brown specks after washing it. The paint feels rough. And I'm not happy about it. I figure its time the car be clayed. I have tried AutoMagic's clay bars before and was impressed on how much of a difference it made to another vehicle. Should I use AutoMagic again or try a different product>?



I also want to get as much shine as I can off this car. After claying the car, should I do a hi speed buff to it>? And if so, what products would you recommend I try>? I want the car to still have a nice shine even after washing it a couple of times.



The last time I clayed a vehicle. My final step was using Auto Magic's paste wax. And the car looked great. So i figured I would stay with Auto Magic's paste wax as a final step. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
I just finished a white "97 mustang show car. I washed, clayed, AIO, SGx2, Moose glaze, Moose wax and S100x3. Came out realy nice and owner was extremely happy. Sorry no pics. The S100 made it POP.
 
There are literally dozens of great products out there. I would think the AutoMagic claybar would be fine, although I've never used one. In my experience, I've yet to see a "bad" clay bar. Just use the right technique and plenty of lubricant, and I'm guessing those specks will disappear.



I'd definitely recommend polishing after you clay. I also follow up with a very mild polish or paint cleanser before applying a topcoat. Totally up to you, but I'd also consider a sealant before, or even in lieu of applying wax.

Poorboys stuff is very easy to use and is quite effective. On white I'm a big fan of Four Star UPC and UPP. But again, there are an awful lot of options out there. This site is tremendous for both product reviews and process demonstrations. Settle back with a cup of joe and check out the forums.
 
you definately want to use something that has cleaning properties like aio, meguiars 80 or 83, or some other product that has cleaning properties..reason being is that white gets stained just like any other paint but is much more noticealbe...the crazy thing is you paint can be shiny/glossy but not be bright...to make white stand out and pop you need to have it bright...if you want take something with clean properties and do part of the hood and stand back, you will most likely notice a difference in color
 
I just did one of my suv's, white as well. Compounded and Polished with Opitmum, used some AI0, and put on 2 coats of EX-P buffed off with Optimum Car Wax. Wow, I 'm still going to put another layer on beefore topping with Natty's Blue, but the truck looks great. I actually had a guy in the parking garage at work today say "damn that truck looks sharp" lol. Can't wait till I see Natty's topped on.
 
I cant wait till I have time to do mine. But I got finals in school. And some of these products mentioned are new to me. Im having to search different sites and look for them.
 
Try Pinnacle clay, Menzerna Final Polish II, and your choice of wax or sealant. Pinnacle Souveran is tops for Wax. And I like Platinum Series Ultimate Paint Protection UPP. Good luck!
 
Here is the white car I want to do. I still havent gotten my PC, but hopefully that will change soon.

The car isnt in bad shape or anything. Just needs the works done to it. I want it to shine.
