Oh hell yes! I'm glad that method worked out. Did you have to spray the panels a lot? or did the 205 keep working as long as you needed it? Any pictures of how much you were loading on the pads?

And of course, great work!!!:D

It definitely broke down after a while but for the most part it really hung in there. I used per Joes recommendation, 1 half dollar drop to prime, then a mix of 2:1 205:water on the pad. I used a lot, a full 32 oz in all. I basically made a 4 ring spiral everytime I reloaded the pad. You really have to work super clean with this setup so it's best to have a lot of pads.

The car looks great ! However; I guess I need some schooling here. What is the advantage of this technique over the traditional technique of say M105 or HD Cut? Both techniques still require a second step for finishing. Obviously it works, but what would make one choose this technique over the traditional ?

It is a lot to explain. Here is the article JSMOOTH posted in TheDriver's original thread. Definitely worth the long read.

It's alot quicker of a cut, and IMO more even distribution of cut (Less chance of burning or striking through). Also allows for a much faster finishing down. Going from 205 to 4000 was cake, it really made the whole thing worth it for sure.

Also worth a note that I did a spot traditionally with the rotor, it removed more material and less spotting (overall circumference of the passing area).

I hope that helps. :bigups

An thanks guys!

Thanks guys. Great read ! Man this really makes you think outside of the box. It makes a lot more sense now that I understand the science behind it. I don't own a Rupes but do have a Flex. I wonder if anyone has tried this with the Flex and the B&S Microfiber Pads.
