Detailer Needed in San Diego

I just bought a black '08 Cadillac CTS. Unfortunately, the dealer swirled the paint when they preped it. It's not horrible, but I'm extremely particular and want it fixed. Someone on the Cadillac Owners' forum recommended I come here to look for a detailer in my area.

Can anyone recommend a detailer in the San Diego area, and does anyone know about what this will cost me?

I just picked up my car from RAG, and it looks great. He was easy to deal with and did a great job at a fair price. I'd recommend him if anyone else is looking.

I'm also looking for a good detailer in San Diego. I have a 2001 gs 300 lexus. It has some pretty bad scratches on the trunk and a few other spots. Also was looking for some tips on how to use a PC. thanks.

That's an awful lot of backache for 200 dollars, what machine do you use?

what about polishing and compounding...most come on this site knowing that a "high gloss polish" is not going to do much for correcting the car to the level which is expected from detailers on here, which is 95%+....

200 for what he is doing is not a bad price...should be done in 3 hours or less, but not with any polishing....

wash, clay, poliseal, then about 1 hour on the interior...but that is not going to make the car look loads better, just cleaned up!!!

I think shampooing the carpets and completely detailing the interior, as he kind of states, takes much longer than one hour if done thoroughly.

im north of SD, im learning on my UDM, but i think i do a thorough job. shoot me a PM or an email, and im sure we can work something out price wise, i dont wish to be low balled, but i dont want to rip you off either if you know what i mean.

I'd say you can't go wrong with RAG or john1, it seems all john does is black paint and rag clays his headboard while he sleeps.

=( but i wanna do it =P

nah its totally cool. those guys would do a 10x better job than i would i think.

experience ftw.

however, i would love to learn from them

Woa dude, I'd think you'd want to "contribute" to this board a little more than 2 times before you start soliciting business...eventuallyl, when you build a reputation, people will probably recomend you.

And what's "hand detail dashboard" anyways?

I appreciate the feedback, thank you.

It's funny, cause when someone tells me how bad, or not bad the swirls are...I never really know what to expect - I've had people tell me they are horrible and it was hardly anything, and I've had people tell me it won't take me any time to fix, only to find a huge mess when I see it. In this case, I'd say the wash-induced swirls were moderate (bad considering the dealership had it for less than two months)...I basically did an extra thorough 2-step polish and was able to remove all but the deepest 10% of scratches.

Anybody in San Diego know where I can get a thorough hot water extraction / steam cleaning done?

Email is probably faster, last time I logged in to this message board was "Last visit: 09-30-05"

PS I am on somewhat of a budget

Thanks in advance
