Detailer in the Boston Area

I'm looking for an experienced detailer in the greater boston area. Does anybody know of a good contact who could help me out. Thanks.
 
Ok do you mean help you with information? or do you mean actually do your vehicle (detail it) or teach you how to do it.Let me know outside only,inside only,both. what kind of vehicle and year and color and what you expect for finished results and how much are you willing to pay for any of the above.
 
Well, it could be just about anything. I've been reading DC pretty heavily lately and I've never done any detailing work myself at this point. I do have some money that I can spend. I'd really like a good reference in the area who would be able to help me by either doing work or by teaching me. The interior is in pretty good shape (except the steering wheel) and I think I can handle working on the inside on my own. I'm really interested in learning more to work on the exterior myself. I have a 2000 Black Chrysler 300m. There are currently very light scratches in several places around the body. I'd like to work them out and get the exterior into better condition. This car is my daily driver, so I don't expect to be able to maintain it in showroom condition, but I do think it could clean up very nicely.
 
Ok first off I too am from just outside of Boston and Do vehicles
all year, but I do recommend to any customer to try and wait till
1st of may and repeat again in Nov.If you really want to keep the
vehicle looking its best and are willing to do the work,I would suggest
buying some equiptment and products, not cheap but worth the money,
will get alot of use from both and save money in long run and make
money back on vehicle during resale.What you will spend just to detail
exterior of a 5yr old vehicle will be $140.00. How much work and what
results you would like will cost you more but you can keep it up the
twice a year plus in between.Do you have access to a garage?Are you
willing to spend 6-8hrs twice a year?If answer to either of those questions
is yes. Let me know and will send you info on products and tools I would recommend.I can also send you all the step by step procedures of each
product and how to use them and results you will get.All this can be done outside, thats not a problem, just easier in a garage.The average person
doing his/her vehicle can expect 2-3yrs worth of product in one bottle and
tools will last a lifetime.So consider that when making a decision.Plus when
you do it will be more apt to take more time and get results you are looking
for and really don't have to worry about ruining anything.Plus you also get
the satisfaction of when someone remarks about how Beautiful you car
looks and wonders who did it, you get to say,YOU DID, and watch the
look on their faces.Let me know will help.
 
Unfortunately, I do not have a garage, my house has only a driveway and a shed. I'm definitely willing to spend the time and money to work on this properly. I'd love any info that you could send. What would be the best way to contact you? Thanks.

Another Boston area member here. I was reading your posts and was wondering if you could recomend a good rotary polisher and if you know of anyone in the area willing to train on the use of one. Thanks for any help you can give.
 
hey jmontgom, by rotary polisher, do you mean circular buffer or random orbital polisher? if it is orbital polisher the best and easiest on market today is porter cable either 7424 or 7336 the 7336 can be purchased at Lowes for 97.00 it is listed as a sander.As for info on how to use let me know which machine we are talking and what you are looking to do with it and results you are looking to get.year/vehicle/color would also be good to know.
 
Hey Lucky I already have a Pc and i am interester in learning about the circular buffer for heavier swirls and scratching. I am trying to open a night and weekend business out of my garage at home. I live real close to the tweeter center which is off 495. I think what I really nee is suggestions on a circular polisher and pads to use with it. I have mostly Poorboy products for exterior work. My practice vehicle is a 1999 Mercury villager that is blue. Thanks again for any help
 
Ok first off go down to Home depot or Lowes and feel the
machines. 7 to 71/2 buffer/grinder with variable speed and
see what feels more comfortable to you. if your looking
to make this a business then buy good machine and alot
out there just your preference. get loop handle for front
of machine, much easier to control machine with. As far
as pads I would suggest properautocare.com and use 7 1/2
constant pressure pads with flexible backing plate. Buffer/circular
5/8-11 and can switch pads to pc with flexible backing plate
5/16-24. buy 2 or 3 of each pad, yellow/white/black/red
