Hi everyone,

I'm a car interior design student doing research on car detailing. I'm wondering if any professional detailer near Pasadena would be able to chat about cars and detailing with me. I'm really wanting to learn more about the routine, tools, and products of detailing.

Thanks guys!

I would recommend speaking with multiple detailers. While the routines are similar and there are general guidelines, different people have different techniques and ways of doing the same thing. I'm not saying that any one detailer may be wrong, but it may give you a different perspective of how there are multiple ways to accomplish the same task.

Great idea alpha, I'm certainly going to speak with a handful of detailers. I see your point in combining different viewpoints of various backgrounds.

On another note, Do you guys know if dealerships have a dedicated detailing department? or does it vary with different dealerships?

Thanks for the feedback guys.

As a general rule...... DON'T LET THE DEALER TOUCH IT....
Most really don't care that much about how good a job they do

Feel free to shoot a pm over, always happy to help a socal guy out.

Also, DO NOT LET A DEALER EVER TOUCH A CAR.

Dealerships are very variable. Some hire mobile Detailers and some do in-house. My car was delivered in really good shape actually with no noticeable swirls. Then there's this dealership:

Thanks The Driver. Sent you a PM

That confirms my suspicions haha. Not going there... I might try giving luxury car dealerships a try. Hopefully they'll have more experienced detailers to talk to.
