I just bought a 2002 Nissan Maxima SE edition and it has a silver/grey paint job. I noticed what appears to be a scuff mark which is black, it is not a scratch but it is something I would like to get rid of. How can i safely remove this mark without damaging the finish of the paint. :)

Where would one get a clay bar ? And what is the proper way of using it ?:up

Auto parts stores like AutoZone or PepBoys usually carry either Meguiars or Mothers clay bar kits. It will come with the clay and a lubricating spray. Just follow the directions. It will run around $20 or so. Personally I'd just try a polish first.

Does this mean I would have to polish the whole car to get the right effect of polishing or can i just go over the spot i need to get rid of ?:up

If the rest of the car is looking good, then only the spot.

But if the rest of the car looks like dog doo-doo then do the whole thing to make a match of the finish.

I would also recommend trying a polish or clay bar. Most of us here are not very fond of the Meguiar's clay though. Laters

So my Neice asked me to clean up her car for her, and me being such a nice guy, I couldn't refuse:angel:

She has a brand new 2010 Blue Honda Acord that needed to be cleaned up. There was no extensive paint correction, just a thorough cleaning as the paint was in pretty good condition.

Here is what I did:
Wash - Optimum Car Wash 2BM
Wheel Wells and Tires - Purple Power
Wheels - P21S Wheel Cleaner
Dressed Tires - Lucas Oil Tire Shine
Dressed wells - CD2
Sealant - Optimum Opti-Seal
Wheel Sealant - Optimum Opti-Seal
