Detailed A Black H2 (56k Warning!!)

H2 did get quite a few votes in the 'What vehicles DONT you like' thread I started a while back.

Nothing like as much abuse and the Honda element and various Pontiacs got tho lol.

I think the reason most people don't like H2's is because of the fact that they took a rugged army use vehicle and "prettied it up". They tried to made it more appealing to the average consumer but in doing so, took away the initial appeal. It's unique qualities.

It's a beautiful vehicle, just not as rugged anymore.

Well, to each his own. I like it so I bought it. I can particularly understand why such a large vehicle would not be well liked on a detailing message board - since it can be a PITA to clean and/or keep clean.

I will say one thing though, it is a hell of a lot more capable offroad than you think. So when the SHTF, I will skate away unscathed...

:D

Hmm. Certainly capable offroad, but how many of them are going to see that? The only people I know that go offroad is my friend in his jeep, and my friend in her 2000 tracker, which is pretty amazing offroad considering it's a 18k truck. Although we got into an accident with it (guy in an escape cut itno us with his skidoos and then hit hte brakes). We were fine, the ski doos and escape were not however. Tough little truck. No problems with it either. 60k miles too. Impressive.

Great looking H2! Awesome job! I wish you folks could swing down to Richmond, VA. I see folks driving H2's all the time that look like cr@p. Oh well, at least one nice H2 is out there!

One comment, I am uncertain if AIO is the best thing to apply to black plastic. I love the AIO on paint and black trim.

I would think that AIO may have too much of a cleaning property, and that on black plastic you might dull it over time.

I stick with 303 for any black plastic/trim on my vehicles.

Just my 2cents. From the looks of it though, the AIO did fine.
