Detailed: 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Speeding? What's that?

I'm rolling a '61 beetle with all of 40hp. 1192cc's of earth shaking power gets me up to about 75mph, if there's a flat road with no wind.....

If I want fast, I get on the Superhawk 996.

heres a pict a manged to snap off,

I've gone 167-170mph (hit the eletronic limiter) in my 93 RX-7 R1 thats when she still had a limiter, now that is gone and she has more mods.. I need to test the top speed... :)

anyone else with some pictures?

when I was going 167ish the subraban I passed seemed like it was not only parked but going backward...then I hit a bump on the road...my *** caught air out of my seat...time slowed down...it hit the seat again, I let off...

ive ridden in my friends M5 to 170 , my car is gear limited to 138.....i have proven that many times hehe... normal driving to work? at least 85, today 110, yesterday 120. im addicted to speed.... so far no tickets either! im in a fairly remote area that i know very well, thats why im ocmfortable at those speeds, im not a stupid driver who messes around in traffic and stuff....i did pass a cop at double the speed limit not long ago.....but by the time he came out of the corner he couldnt establish a speed and i drove away slowly hehehe

Fastest to get pulled over, 94 in a 55 on I-20 coming out of ATL

Fastest 135 in my 325 on Hwy. 79 going south to Destin, FL. Nice long straight streches.

145, fully loaded in both trunks and with my wife(!) on a long road trip last summer. Car was more willing than me to go faster, and I'm sure I surprised a few people at I passed with a 70mph differential. "Porsche with panties" my a$$. :)

You're lucky he didn't cite you anyhow (around here they call it a "visual"), something to keep in mind ;) I've never been written up that way, but I've been, uhm, "greatly inconvenienced" and I don't mean the sort of incident you forget about after a few weeks ;)

Limited to about 107 mph in my GA SE, the GTs limit at atround 126 mph. Maybe without a limiter I could probably hit 130 mph I guess? Didn't take long to get there though, tall gears, good for top speed.

I don't do it much anymore, if at all. If there was a nearby track for cars I would love to hit it up. I might pick a bike in the next year or two though and there is a track for those so it could be fun.

When I was younger, I did 110+ from Gary, IN to Downtown Chicago in a Mark VII LSC. As a result of scorching both the Indiana Toll Road and the Chicago Skyway, I got there in exactly 30 minutes flat.

One of the more recent speeding adventures involves my "speed limiter" freaking out at 85-90 on I-17 between Flagstaff and Phoenix. We were approximately 5000 feet above sea level when this occurred.

Did he beat you up or abuse you in some nasty way? (I've heard bad things about Ohio cops.) Did he follow you around all day?

Just started dating a new girl. 4th date we get on the highway in my roommates 1991 MR2 with a TD06 turbo. I merge onto the on ramp and punch it. Bark 1-2 and 2-3 and just kept punching it. Got up to 125 before I left off a little. Not 1 word out of her mouth. Later that night she admitted she loved it wants to go 'driving' again in the future. She sounds like a keeper to me! :2thumbs: :heelclick

On my way to court with my dad to fight my 92 in a 65 mph ticket my dad punches it on the highway and gets up to 140ish. That was in a 1998 Mustang GT.

Made it from Orlando to North Miami Beach in 2 hours, normally take 4-4.5 going the speed limit / pending traffic. :woohoo:

:getdown

Ah, small world...I had one of those before I switched to the German stuff in a big way.

I remember renting a regular Mark VII for my HS prom and it was kind of fun to drive. :D

However, most of my time was spent in a 1987 that I used to torch quite a few expressways. In fact, Interstate 80 between Chicago and Joliet saw me doing 100+ way before the 2002 Maxima.

Nah, they knew better than that ;) But I was "in the position" for a long time and he called for back-up and it ended up being a big to-do with lots of LEOs there really going over the car (looking for stuff) and being, uhm, unfriendly. After they let me go, I got tailgated the rest of the way through the state by seemingly every LEO on the road. This was in Indiana in '89, car was a Porsche 928S4, which I selling to Isringhausen Imports in IL. I was having a bit too much fun during my last drive in it :o

Cruising: 15-25 over the posted limit usually, depending on the location of my radar detector.

Town: 0-15 over the posted limit, depending on how residential the area is.

Top speed: 120 MPH.

Top speed pulled over at: 112 in a 55. The world's nicest officer then wrote me up for 85. :thx

If I didn't have an underpowered convertible, I'd get into real trouble.

I've gotten busted twice for speeding: 55 in a 30 and 44 in a 25. Both got thrown out in court. I usually drive 5 over on most roads and 7-10 over on the highway.

Here's one from college days. My best friend and I did 120 - 130+ on I-57 between Champaign and Chicago in a RX-7. Scary thing about that car was it was begging to do more.

I also ran 125+ in a Mark VIII
