Great job on the detail!

There is something fishy about this supra though I think. I had a brand new one in 94, and yes they were in the $40k range...how someone will try to charge $55k now for one, I don't know. But what's strange aside from the comments on the paint color, is that the twin turbo supras back then had a little silver badge that said Turbo on the back trunklid near where it says supra..this one does not say that. I wonder if the car was crashed, or had a new engine swapped in or something. I love how the advertisement talks all about how it was kept in the best of conditions, never in the rain blah blah blah, but seeing the before pics tells the whole story - the car was not kept up well at all! $55k my ***!

The Turbo badges were not offered until 1997, they were not factory prior to that. In 93.5 (the first year sold) the price was nearly $60,000. In 94 it dropped in price nearly $10k with no difference to the car (other than the "Premier edition" badging being dropped). The price dropped nearly $10k again in 97 to a little more than $40k where the price stayed until the ending of the car being imported (last year sold was 98).

The "Supra" and "turbo" badges sell for about $35 total.

Those before shots were pretty shocking, definatly had a hard life for its 9000 miles.

There is no metalic supra paint.

Sweet mate, that is mighty fine work. Beautiful restoration of the finish and acracking glossy shine. Beautiful work. Engine bay looks mint. :2thumbs:

I'm glad someone else chimed in about the metallic paint as I didn't ever recall a metallic black on the Supra.

Was the metallic added mid-detail because in the before pictures its hard to see the metallic as well. There was a Supra for sale around here and it has 20,000 miles on it with a price tag of $25k, it's unreal if that guy can sell it for that price tag, especially with saying the car was "taken care of" all it's Thanks to you it was given a second chance at life...For a couple thousand more Id take the Viper they are selling.

It seems like you really like the XMT line and it no doubt produces nice results, I'll have to give them a try next time. I always enjoy viewing your interior details.

Nice job on the detail, black is always so nice to work on, especially Toyota black!

What the hell would a 60 year old woman want with a Twinturbo Supra?!?!?!

And I thought Anne Rice lived most of her life in New Orleans and then moved to La Jolla or something like that recently. Interesting that you can't judge a book by its cover.

Pun INtended! :getdown

Was it a TwinTurbo? Its this model that fetches some nice sums.

The one under the cover is a 1997 with the stinkin badges....LOL!

Dudes it's not metallic. The sun and flash did something wierd. I don't know what.

Thanks for the compliments. I just did 9 cars today for the NOPI show this weekend.

Me tired!

Got 3 to do tomorrow!

Dear lord......

I LOVE MY JOB!

Metallic Paint.

The XMT Glaze has cleaners in it that will remove light marring.

You were the one who said it was metallic paint...calm down - you changed your story when everyone started saying there wasn't metallic paint. You were the one working on it, so which was it :nixweiss

$70K or even $55K for a Toyota? For that Toyota? I needed a good laugh today, thanks for supplying it for me.

Oh, by the way, beautiful work you did on the car though! :2thumbs:

I am curious as well. Why did you tell me metallic?

I'm sorry to tell you, but your info is incorrect. I'm not sure if you caught it or not, but as I mentioned, we had a '94 supra that we bought brand new in '94. It was a twin turbo and had the silver turbo badging on the back.

Many dealers offered the badges, but not until 97 did they all come that way from the factory. Factory 94 here..

Why did you sell? :(

I WAS JOKING ABOUT THE METALLIC!

I was in the thread. You all must have more time than me.

Badges were not offered as OEM until 97.

With all due respect, I understand you consider yourself a supra expert, however it came directly from the factory brand new in '94 with the turbo badge, as did many other '94's..My friend Mike also had a '94 that came with the badge on it, from a different dealer.. I can't speak for all supras across the country, but I can assure you plenty came with the badge in '94. Put 100k miles on it and sold it...it was a fun car but it was time for it to go. Fast and furious ruined them too, and all the other ricers putting big fins and pop can exhausts on their cars.
