DetailCity.org is now AutopiaForums.com!

Al there are a lot of plans for Autopia store and forum in the future, PBMA is doing it best to constantly add to both. I think you all might be pleasantly surprised at the future for these two sites. No one likes change but without change you cannot grow.

No matter what the name or affliation;

1. Membership is Free.
2. Learning is Free.
3. Purchases are not mandatory.

Change is good.

I are now practicing the great American past time of speculating without having many facts.:D

Simple but brilliantly put. There are lots of valid arguments and opinions, and we accept and appreciate all of them. They're apart of the growing process.

Touching on what Meghan said, I'm sure we can agree that this new light (change) will provide this forum with the growth it needs and has deserved for quite some time.

I implore you to stick around for the coming weeks. Myself and the rest of the staff here are working around the clock to bring you the best of what car care can offer, whether it be through education, or product selecetion. With all the new technology being introduced and the changes being made in the car care industry, this certainly is an exciting time. :bigups

Change isn't always a bad thing. But trying to capitalize on mimicking the Autopia forums by changing the name of this forum just isn't a good kind of change in my opinion. EVERYONE knows the name 'Autopia' in the online detailing world, and they know that it ISN'T this forum. Regardless of who owns what, I don't think that'll ever change, and I think outside of a few optimists (of which I was once a part of the camp) that this change will be seen as underhanded/sneaky/insert-whatever-here. I also feel like you guys could have been up-front with the members here from the get go.

I think this wouldn't be as much of an issue if there wasn't the link back to the "other" forum.
I'm just curious about what is going to set us apart from the rest. Getting to the top means you have something that makes you obviously different from the rest. IMO
Just personal experience.

I'm not trying to make anyone "see the light". That's a decision a person has to make for themselves. That said, we've got a great group of detailers here and hoping to build on this group. Having PBMA back a forum from a product stand point certainly has to be a plus/differentiator.

JP, I'm hoping you'll give this a shot. We need you here. You are one of those great detailers that I mentioned.

Is it possible to get the "Forums" tab link changed to autopiaforums instead of Detail City org? The Forums tab keeps sending off to yahoo search.

Thanks

I use that link a lot too and it's been requested. I'm thinking our vBulletin gurus might be off for the weekend. Most of the tool bar links still aren't pointed in the right direction at the present time. ;)

You are right, that's why I'll watch too see what happens.

I do like the theme: nice colors, larger than most forum avatars, and shaded boxes for thread discussion.

One improvement would be to eliminate (or allow to collapse) the user cp, site nav links, poll, etc. on the left side that occupies about 20% of the horizontal space when viewing a specific thread. Once you get past 5-in or so, there is nothing but white space anyway.
