DETAILED TODAY?
Well, the prep i did sat/sun did help. Interior and all glass treated with DP GLASS COAT. On to this morning. I did get a early start. I worked up until the SUN reared up and i knew i had to STOP. So far i got a good wash in. Did the wheels with DP COATING PREP POLISH & DP WHEEL COAT. Got most of the trim with WGTS. Including headlamps/tailamps. Left to do.....Roof rack trim and a few other pieces. Then i am leaning towards the DP COATING PREP POLISH & DP PAINT COAT combo. :D I am going to try to finish this today. Going back out once the sun moves out of way. Nice part is breaking this up in steps instead of one long detail session!! Long live vacations. :rockon

Still, getting too old for this crazy hobby. I do have one question on the DP PAINT COAT. How will i go about maintaining it? Can i use spray waxes and detailers? I understand its a semi-perm. coating. 2 years is what they claim on it.

Maintain the gloss and slickness by regularly washing your vehicle with DP Rinseless Wash & Gloss or DP Extreme Foam Shampoo.

To really rejuvenate the shine and slickness after a rough winter, apply Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Coating Booster. :)
 
I agree 100% as far as breaking up the detail and prep. This weekend I did some polishing and paint prep on my Dodge Ram. I am off a couple of days this week and plan to do all the glass with DP Glass Coating.

Things are so much easier when you break them up into small pieces especially if you have a large vehicle. Plus I am not getting any younger :)
 
I hear you on the age thing. When I get started on the family truckster, that is how I am going to do it. A little at a time till it is done.
 
Sun went behind the clouds enough to finish the plastics on the roof rack (pita) and i seal the roof with BFCS. And the DP COATING PREP PAINT POLISH is done! Interesting product. Not hard to work with even by hand. It did indeed leave the paint nicely prepped. (clean). Break. Final step will be the DP PAINT COAT as soon as the sun leaves the driveway. Looking foward to my first coating. Hope its easy to deal with!

DONE! The xterra most likley did not roll off the assembly line as good! :rofl

Finished all jambs with BFCS. The DP PAINT COAT was interesting. It states to use a FOAM pad, but it dragged to much for me. So i busted out a MF pad instead. Applies like CS but a little more work. Flashes quick. Then a MF wipe will remove the high spots. On a dark color pay attention! All in all, for my first coating i was impressed. LONG DAY........

This thing now drips with DP COATINGS!
 
Thanks. What are safe products to maintain it with? Any good detail spray? And are spray waxes out of the question? Would the new DP POWER WASH & WAX be ok for washes? Being it contains wax. Sorry for so many questions. First time i used a coating and want to maintain it right. I Did see the pinnacle booster. Wow pricey! And their coating detail spray. Reload would be another i guess. I have some megs gold class high gloss detailer. But it most likley has additives? And i am guessing soaps with shine boosters and wax are out? My current soap is CG MAXI SUDS II. So i am ok there. And the DP PAINT COAT is really a hybrid coating from what read. Semi perm.
