Detail on BMW... NICE!!!!

well I decided to detail my dads car on dec 19, since it would be in the garage for the next couple of days. the car was tore up!!! sorry i dont have any befores, but then again, i never take befores :). the car had not been washed since the summer, and was covered in dirt, and all kinds of crap!
first off, many of you know that i was at seans (gsrstilez) house that day, so i ended up starting the bmw around 430-5. all i have to say is, damn it was cold!!! how do you guys wash like that? it helped that i used warm water though. anyways, i didnt clay because the car was clayed over the summer. when i was done there were very few light swirls, so im going to ssr2.5 the car come spring. for now its good though.. the main focus for protection not a swirlfree finish, as i was limited for time, and really wasnt up to it. the process was as follows

1. wash with mothers gold
2. poorboys ssr1
3. poorboys ex-p+ x3 coats
4. wheels got klasse x2, then ex-p+ x1
5. bnb on tires (diluted)
6. windows were cleaned with stoners, then natty's

i like the ex-p+ so much that i asked steve to send me some more which i would pay for.
tonight i plan on adding a layer of poorboys nattys on top. hopefully by the end of the week ill have natty's x3. ill update with new pics when i am done with that. for now this will be the eye candy:

thanks about the detail... i was quite happy with the outcome. the color is orient blue... i love the color... very unique... looks so dark under certain lights.

Great job :bigups
The blue almost looks black.
It's been so cold I'm suprised you even took it out with all the snow on the ground.
You should have waited for tomorrow it's supposed to be 40+.
I love how wet it looks

Happy Holidays

that is one of the nicest colors, details, reflections, depth, ive seen on a car. i dont even like the late modeled 5 series beemers. im absolutely exstatic of how that car looks. soo much shine and depthe and clarity all in one... that car literally in my eyes looks to have been drenched in baby oil... i love. i set it as my desktop background.

was that an aftermarket paintjob or was it all oem bmw paint. i wouldnt mind picking a car with that color...

GSRstilez: thanks.. i hope hes happy too... he hasnt seen it in the sun yet... i only took it out to take pictures... cant wait for the application of the nattys!!! are you doing the silverado tomorrow?

jaybs95: i was thinking about waiting for tomorrow, but i did most of the work in my heated garage. tomorrow ill be washing my car, and maybe the silver van in the background of one of the pictures.

91LSMAN: thanks... i only pulled it out to snap some pics

joyriide1113: thanks for the compliments... damn you set it as your wallpaper? im honored.. lol. the paint is bmw oem.

tdekany: thanks.. everyone seems to say it looks wet! i waited 2 hours inbetween the first two coats, and 36 hours between the 3rd coat. same with the wheels. polishing was done with a rotary, and the exp+ was put on by pc the first two times, then by hand the third time.

NavindraLR,

Awesome job. I have to hand it to you...it was freezing here. I hope my son is as dedicated as you when he gets a bit bigger. I'm sure you're getting some extra goodies for XMAS for doing such a great job....

How did you like the EX-P+? My Maxx is the same type of color. It's a dark blue metallic that looks almost black until light hits it. When I was with Sean, he was telling me about how great the samples are. I can't wait to try some. I've been using UPP for the slickness, but after seeing EX on my Mach I'm REALLY itching to see EXP+.

you're right about getting the extra goodies for christmas :) .. its mainly because i worked my arse off in college though. i hope your son is dedicated to the purpose as well. i feel that it makes things so much easier for my dad.. he doesnt have to worry about is car basically. i love the exp+. i even bought another sample because the first one i had, i finished. im not sure if the exp+ is as slick as upp (limited experience with upp), but i really dont care about slickness... its not a big deal to me. dont get me wrong though, the exp+ is slick...

UPDATE - i did apply 2 layers of natty's paste wax, but i dont think i'm going to post the pics. in the pictures, its hard to tell the differences. in person though, you can see that the paint looks even darker, and has a little more depth to it...

i changed my mind, and decided to post pics of the car with the exp+ topped with nattys, here they are. im glad i did post them, cause they actually look pretty good. combo as of now: exp+ x3, nattys x2. no mixing and matching here, right sean?
