Detail Delivery story

So yesterday I worked all day, from about 7am to 7pm on a '03 Ford F-350 four door Diesel truck. It was one of the first "for pay" full corrections I've done for a customer. So I am delivering this guys truck and I always take a Microfiber with me because you always see stuff while driving that you don't see otherwise, after making some last minute touch-ups on the side of the road i delivered it. So I get to the guys house and he comes out, says "it looks good", throws his phone on the hood and proceeds to write the check on the hood of the truck, rubbing his check book back and forth!!!!!

The good thing is that I got paid, which I guess is what's important, it's still hard to see that kind of stuff after you've spent so much time on something.

I'm sure you guys have some great stories like this with the caliber of cars you clean!

I did an awesome job on a black Honda S2000 last few days.

Today, he called me and said, "This morning, my maid washed and dried the car using a dish-washing cloth. It was too late for me to stop her!!!".

DAMN!!!

if it makes you feel better, I'm going to do a full correction probably in the near future on someone's H3 and umm...welll he's more than likely going to go off roading that following weekend....

I've had a few come pick there car after some polish work and the first they do is lean on the car when talking.

I once did a detail on a black Monte Carlo SS for a firefighter from a neighboring community. His wife worked for the school system, and one day she took the Monte to work because her Tahoe was in the shop and he was on duty for a 24 hour shift.

One of the custodians had spray painted some shelving outdoors using a lovely shade of canary yellow and overspray from the spray painting had blown over onto a couple of cars parked in the area. The Monte got the brunt of it. The custodian used a dirty old shop rag and some turpentine to "remove" the overspray and in turn stripped the LSP of of the car as well introducing a lot of marring. He must have not had his glasses on, because he missed a lot of spots!

I got a panic call the next morning from the owner... luckily, the marring wasn't deep and I was able to return the black paint to its freshly detailed look.
