Detail City vs. Autopia

A recent post about DC vs. Autopia made me think about that a little.

All my opinions and have exactly the same value as usual.

1. There really isn't any DC vs. Autopia inherent in either site.
2. Some members at both sites have sometimes gotten a little off-track in exchanges about that subject.
3. Neither Dwayne or DavidB let it continue.
4. Both sites have had and will have members that just plain like to stir up trouble.
5. Usually, those people go away if you just ignore them.
6. If they don't, The Fuzz is always on call. :)

It's really pretty easy, just follow the rules and show fellow members the respect as a person you would like to receive. No lovefest needed.

Well said. I rarely catch negative posts on either site downing the other. The majority of people at both just want to learn about detailing, but there are always a few bad apples in the bunch. It's nice coming here (or Autopia) and not having to wade through flamefests.

What we need is a good lovefest. I am ALL ABOUT THE LOVEFEST.

Bring on the love!

Wait a minute! What's this?

Awww man! Not again! :brick

I'm almost feeling sorry for The Fuzz, he's had so many disappointments lately :(

Maybe in the spirit of the holidays, we could schedule one brief group hug, just for him. :dunno

I'm not group huggin The Fuzz until he takes off those tights ... AND puts on some real pants TOO! (Just want to be clear on that detail!) :hah

I like Fuzz's tights. :naughty

I think my first crush was on Adam West of the 1960's Batman TV series. Fuzz's new avatar reminds me a little of Burt Ward's Robin costume. :D

To move this back on topic... thank you for another insightful post Charles. :bigups

I don't have anything new to add to an already excellent post. Charles is right on the money.

I love Autopia but I haven't posted over there in a long, long time. I think the last time that I posted over there was when my friend Wayne got banned. Poor guy.

Anyway, there never seems any fueding going on between the leadership of the two websites and they do share alot of the same members.

I was reading both forums the other night and Autopia had a few threads about what was wrong, who should be banned and how it needs to be like it was in the old days and then I come over to Detail City and it just seemed like Detail City members were having a party!

There was alot of traffic, sponsors were giving away prizes, Dwayne was announcing the member of the year.

As I sat at my desk and contemplated what I saw, a tear came to my eye and I felt the happiness and wonder of the holiday season for the first time in a long time because Dwayne and the rest of the Detail City sponsors showed me the joy of giving once again.

I don't know much about the old days of either forum but I just hope that Autopia members can have as much fun and experience as much happiness as we had on Detail City the other night.

These are the "good ol' days" of Detail City It was a wonderful occasion.

well said Antonio and Charles :bigups :bigups

DC has evolved a lot although I've only been here a couple of months . It's nice to be part of the changes here.

Please allow me to add my agreement to what Charles said. I've been on forums from Autopia to Yahoo!, and before then on several BBSs. DetailCity and Autopia rank highly on my list of forums to freqent (although there was that unfortunate thread on Autopia last week where new Moderators were announced, and that lovefest degenerated so badly after a page and a half, that the thread had to be closed. The irony!)

As people on both forums have pointed out, there are no stupid questions when it comes to detailing. No matter how many times a person (usually a newbie) asks a question, the elders answer it intelligently, politely, and thoroughly (or they at least provide a link to a thread that provides the answer).

I don't really see a Detailcity Vs. Autopia, as Antonio stated there are and number of people who are members of both forums and I don't see any site bashing from either side.
I remember when I first joined a topic came up and Dwanye made it clear that he didn't want too see any site bashing and I don't see any from Autopia either(not that I see every post on both forums).

But both have different members so that means different ways of looking at the same things, to me thats good, that helps everybody grow.

There are some rough spots over there now and I hope that DavidB can get them resolved
I enjoy the time I spend here at DC, but am saddend by the things I see at Autopia, and hope that our mods and admins can keep that from happening here.

Happy Holidays,
"J"
