One product that our very own bigron pushes is one that I am sure is not pushed anywhere else. How's that for diversity of product. Hahahaha!

Yep, Detail City definately is biased when it comes to Big Ron's NuFinish.

Why can't people just get it right? :dunno

Yes it does seem that Poorboy's the current buzz, but as someone who came here looking for something more than the consumer Meguire's products that I was getting.

There is nothing wrong with giving a favorable review to a product if it's worthy...
The same way you would recomend any thing that you like to another friend if they asked you.

There was much talk about Steve's product and I am glad that I have tried them.
But now I have been bitten by the bug and am looking to try Wolfgang, 4*, and the Klasse twins (just to name a few :D )
but Poorboy's was definately a good start.

Just my $.02

Gee I didn't realize that good products and people who like them could cause such a big problem:dunno

As stated before it's funny how i hardly ever "push" a product, but try to answer questions about use.

There are many forums where my products are discussed and I'm not even on those boards.

If people choose to use them great, if you choose another product that's good too.

Many people who have called me asking for advise have heard me say "use what you have and then

try my products if you want, but don't waste money on similar products" many of these people have

thanked me for not saying my products are the "only" way to go and i am the first one to steer

someone to a local or different product if I can't meet their needs.

Bias ...I hope so ..a little as I spend a lot of my time helping people here...

When other owners of companies spend their time building friendships and relationships with the

end users, i hope they will also get some return for their time and effort.

Steve..aka Poorboy

ps ...my family appreciates the use of my products:D

Steve

Good to see ya posting again hope your daughter is doing beter. Your products rock Steve and I have never been pressured to buy any of them.

DC= Inspiration !!!

Besides learning about great products I love DC because of detailers like :

Anthony Orosco, EBPcivicsi, Nick0844, 2drtahoez71 and recently GSRstilez to name a few are really pushing out some great work.

I find these guys inspiring, and help to elevate my level of detailing !!!

THANKS DC !!!

i dont push our sponsors products because shipping is too much for me to use them. but i buy most of my equipment like my buffer and my vast selection of pads from dwayne and ive had great service from him and thats just the way it is . ive had terrible customer service from rightlook and they couldnt give stuff to me for free and thats just the unbiased truth i spent $2,000 on equipment and im sorry i did . ive spoken to steve at poorboys and he gave me great detailing tips no charge and it was appreciated . also aaron at edge pads is top shelf . ive recieved great instruction on rotary from aaron and hes the reason i can use one properly now .

ADVICE !!! That is what DC is about !!!

Beemerboy, Thanks for the compliment !!! I always enjoy reading your opinions . You bring a wealth of detailing knowledge to DC , and you are not selfish in sharing those opinions with others.

Big Thanks from CD !!!

In terms of products, beauty is in the eye of the beholder...if you think it looks good it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks (as long as you aren't using Pledge as a QD, LOL).

I've read several posts around claiming DC is a PB/4* board & Autopia is Klasse/Zaino. I personally find that all products are discussed in both places. PB has been getting tons of threads on Autopia over the last month.

I came across a reference to DC on Autopia and came here too; I had just caught the detailing but badly and was (and still am) hungry for knowledge.

What I find remarkable about DC is the way Steve and Dwayne use the board to provide great customer support regardless of the products you use. I've seen both guys in numerous posts offer real advice regardless of the brand or product being used...it is obvious that they aren't out to just take your money but to really help people which will make me a customer for life.

I also like to support small businesses...forums like this will help get the word out about all the great little companies out there. Now if I can just stop myself from doing business with all of them, I'll be fine.

theres always a different hot product at one time or another. Right now its EX-P, nattys, grape tire gloss, All of menzernas stuff, and some others. A few months ago it was Wolfgangs, and when i first joined here every thread was about AIO + UPP.
I dont think DC is "biased". DC doesnt say 1 company is the ultimate, supreme, best, greatest company. A lot of people recommend PB because they make awesome, inexpensive, very user friendly products. The guy that makes the products also happens to be a member here, which is a reason why theres so much info about their stuff.

Hehehe I'm not sure there is too much to talk about here. I'm a member of DC, Autopia and Roadfly. Each forum is very informative in its own way and I read all of them.

On the PB's thing.. I can see how someone *could* draw the conclusion that DC is a PB's love fest, but who cares? Maybe it's because PB products are very good that a lot of people like them and talk about them? Maybe PB's is just the "in thing" right now, just like other products are favored in other forums at certain times. I'm happy they are talked about here, because thats what made me try a few PB's products and I like them!

Bottom line, use the forums YOU enjoy, find informative and helpful. For me thats DC, Autopia and Roadfly. Just my choice, you make your own and please do yourself a favor: don't waste energy worrying about what someone else might think about it; it really not that important!

One last thing, then I'm gonna shut up. When you review something or offer a noob advice, go beyond .. "use this" or "this is the best". Explain why you like the product, how you use it, it's pro and cons and maybe how it compares to other similar products. That way you give everyone reading your review or advice enough information to make their own choice on if the product may be right for them.

OK, enough said! Back to catching up with my paperwork .. uuugh

oh, and an addition to what cleandean posted....
the great detailers at DC are definatly motivation to do a job as well as i possibly can. Sometimes the only thing i think about while doing a car is posting the before and after pics here when i get home, then getting the thumbs up from everybody, especially from fellow picture-posters.
Glad to be on your list too, Dean, youre on mine, and i think everybody elses here too haha

My list is a mile long !!! Some great detailers here. And groebuck, DC could never be the same without you !!! You are one dedicated enthusiast, as well as one sick puppy !!! You da man !!!:)

At times it can seem like a PB love fest, but it is a widely used product here and has a pretty devoted following. Generally speaking it is pretty open to all products and is an enjoyable place to gather info and ideas.

The one thing I read that did disappoint me was when a member stated that he only recommends sponser products and rarely if ever offers non sponser product recommendations and then stated that other people should follow suit or think about leaving.
It may have been said "in the heat of battle", but was disappointing to read none the less and I didnt feel that it was within the spirit of this forum......

As the owner of the forum, I have to agree. I have never set that as a rule. We just don't like when other COMPANIES try to come in and get free advertising, that really burns my backside.

We have said from the beginning that links and recommendations are welcomed and encouraged by helpful members that are unbiased, impartial and have no affiliation with the companies mentioned. Heck, we EVEN HAVE A LINK DIRECTORY for crying out loud!

At the same time, we highly encourage our members to support our sponsors if they appreciate this forum and the fact that our sponsors make Detail City forum possible. I will always encourage members and guests to support Detail City sponsors and that is a good thing but certainly is not a rule.

It really is that simple. Now we can move on now that this issue is clarified and no one else ever has to be confused again. :bigups
