im looking into ordering an rotary. what's everyone's suggestion

There's a few good one's out there, I have a Makita and really like it.

How long have you been detailing for?

You might want to wait a little and get familiar with the UDM and how the different polishes work and break down before you step up to a rotary. I only say that cause it seems by your statemtents that you may not be the most familiar with these things. (no offense)

a year. I just watched 5 videos on rotary usage/pads, etc. I have major experience with the udm and it just isn't "cutting it" (pun intended)

which model makita? and where did you get it? where did you find the velcro pad attachment, etc?

Makita 9227C I believe is the model number. I've got one and like it a lot. Although, I'm still only using it on my own vehicle and test panels at this point. I've got the Flex as my everyday ROB at this point and it does a pretty good job. Definitely better than the UDM.
