Defelsko PosiTest DFT Combo Electronic Paint Thickness Gauge

The PosiTest DFT Paint Thickness Gauge measures coatings on ALL metals. It is the economical choice that retains the uncompromising quality of DeFelsko coating thickness and inspection instruments. The PosiTest DFT Paint Thickness Gauge is ideal for measuring the thickness of paint on aluminum and steel body panels which makes an invaluable tool when doing extreme paint correction and surface enhancement.

I've ran the scenario through my head a million times - me trying to explain to my wife what I spent $700 on, what it does, why I need it, and then going back to why I spent $700 on it. Then it normally results in me being beat with a frying pan afterward.

At least you still have the Defelsko...........

instead of a one giveaway contest how about a group buy where everybody gets a chance to get one at drastically reduced price.... there is a lot of us that would like to have one of those puppies.

Well that's the thing..I never had the jewels to order it. Just put a lot of thought into how it would all go down, and it would definitely end with me running from a frying pan.

Just have it under the Christmas Tree this year and hide the pads from her. But be ready to run ( dress for it )

This is a cool tool but it only works on sheet metal and aluminum panels. My TA is mostly composite so on cars like that we would still be in the dark.

Come on why isn't more people jumping on this??? I know all of you must have 700 bucks lying around somewhere! :D

How did you know ? Did you find my stash ? :D I have enough mad money to take advantage of a group buy but also have a extractor and steamer on the list and maybe a portable generator.

EXCELLENT idea. Took the words right out of my mouth.

Plus you also gotta make room for primer and sealer, just because the gage says a certain thickness doesn't mean it's all base coat paint!

There IS a Defelsko gauge that measures plastics, and metals, but that bad little boy is a few thousand I believe...

I know, its sad. :(
