deep swirls, will these products do the job?

I just got a black '03 miata that has some pretty deep swirl marks caused by the dealership. I don't have a pc just yet, something I plan to save up for after xmas, but I want to get rid of these swirls now if possible.

The car has been clayed and is smooth, but I tried using only the Meg #9, but it only helped for the faintest of scratches. I therefore bought the 3m rubbing compound. Will this combo work to atleast get rid of some of the swirls (till I get a pc)?

1) 3M Perfect-it II Rubbing Compound

2) Meguiar's #9 swirl remover

3) s100 wax

Again, this will be done by hand. I have foam pads for application of these products. Should I be applying the compound and the polish using circular motions? And the wax in horiz/vert right?

I would suggest switching to 100% cotton towels to apply polishes. You will see better results. Start with your least abrasive product on a particular panel and increase the level of abrasivness until you get the finish you want, then proceed to use that product on the rest of the car. You might have to go over it with #9 afterwards.

That combo should work by hand. The 3m Rubbing Compound does leave a haze on the paint that will be removed when you come back with the #9. You need to use the #9 after it.
