Dedicated to all those things in life that SUCK!

I'm glad we got off of Rosie, Michael Vick, and Monica and on to something, anything constructive, like vacuums.

How do y'all like those bagless vacs? I always find it annoying the cloud of dust that comes up (and drifts back into your just-cleaned area) when you dump the dirt cup--that and not really wanting to handle/see/breathe what's in there always leads me to a bag type. The one I use for the car is a cheap Eureka I got at Sears which actually has the rubber seal on the bag like an Electrolux.

Well, this is the Hot Tub . . . definitely the wrong forum if you're looking for "constructive". :)

As for vacs, we do love our Dyson. There is a small amount of dust when dumping the canister, but it's never been enough of a problem for us to consider it a negative. IMO, there's less dust than what our old crappy bag vac kicked out, but it kinda sucked, and not in the good way for vacuums . . . maybe not the best comparison.

I concur with Tort, again. :)

I have used bagless for many years now and there is no contest for me. I empty the canister in an area not near the carpeting, into a big trash can, so there is nothing to resettle into the carpet, and really there isn't a big dust cloud. Dealing with the hassle of changing bags, dust coming out of the bag, etc, is why I'll never use bags again. I have really loved bagless...it just makes things so much easier, not messier. And the results are great too!

Maybe I'm just remembering my smaller-scale experiences of the usual large shop vac emptying...mine is usually full of concrete dust and leaves and dirt from my garage floor and I have to go way out in the back yard and pour it into a garbage bag where it makes a mushroom cloud and then the neighbors call 911 and we all know how painful that can be...

Heh. Yeah, I think the smaller size, the flip open bottom, and "household dirt" instead of "shop dirt" makes emptying the Dyson a little less of a bio-hazard than dumping the shop vac. :)

Hey! I have that exact vacuum! It's the Mach 5 correct? Picked it up about a month ago, and you are right, it sucks big time! Best vac I've ever owned actually...amazing what it picks up that my Eureka leaves behind. Supposed to be based on Dyson technology, now that the Dyson patent is up... Very good vac!

I actually picked mine up from Wal-Mart and the wife griped it was heavy. I love it because it sucks pretty well. In fact, the first pass reduced the residual fibers from new carpet significantly.

I showed my wife the Dyson and she was   at the price.

As for dumping the dirt, I dump it into the garbage and there is very little dust. I've even used my vac outside on my doorstep and it sucked a lot of the dust that was in the concrete.

Shoulda run :)

Let's not forget the obvious time and cost savings when it comes to buying and replacing bags.

However, I talked to one of the guys in IT that actually preferred bags as opposed to bagless. Go figure.

VW GTI Up in flames (Youtube)

I remember seeing some pics of a Porsche Carrera bombarded with a sheet of ice that slid off a roof... That was total suck.

My timing chain broke today...made me think of this thread. Now that I saw the Youtube video I don't feel so bad. BTW thanks to the nice cop who gave me a ride home. :up :up

Lost to Division AA Appalachian State--at home today!

That was just pathetic. That almost sucks worse than the IRS.

I'd had the GTO for about a month when some nitwit decided to vandalize my car. Total damage was over $2200. I was not a happy camper. I never found out who did this, and if I ever do man oh man. Needless to say my baby is all better now
