<strong class='bbc'>unbelievable.

hahah

DK - what you got to do is walk in there and start twitching and tell them the voices don't want the car washed, ask to speak to the service guy and start talking outloud to yourself "no, i dont want to kill him, he said he wont wash the car" while snapping your neck to one side and blinking one eye

You'll have one dirty car when you come back. Maybe you can squeeze some free drinks or snacks out of him while your at it.

My wife brought our new Mountaineer in to have a broken piece of seat trim replaced (maybe a 15 minute job) and left the vehicle there for a few hours. When she picked it up it was freshly washed. She said the shop manager and our salesman were so proud. They said something to the effect they like all 'their' vehicles to look great when running around town. She thought it was a nice gesture and I about flipped.

I'm going to take the dealer trim piece off. Then they won't have the incentive to wash it next time.

I feel for you, man! Gawd.... I'm dreading taking our new Lancer in for it's first check-up this Saturday. I'm am planning on taking the few hours before and detailing it so <em class='bbc'>hopefully[/i] this will deter them from washing it. But from what I read here, that doesn't even do much!

I'm going to be there the whole time, though, so I'll try and keep an eye on it. From what I've dealt with them before, they seem VERY cool, so maybe I'll drive away with the same amount of swirls that are on there now!

Wish me luck!

Most of the bays are open from the rear. 100% of the detailing bays are open in the back of the garage. If you see your car go around the back to the detailing bay just go back there and let them know you appericate the offer but you rather not have your car detailed. I'm sure you'll be fine.

The oil change and detail bays are on the same side of the garage where I have my car serviced. They don't offer free washes anyhow so I never worry, I need to keep an eye on the punk kids who drive my car in though :nono peeling out you twirps!

<strong class='bbc'>Or, maybe it's from the day that the detail guy took his "guys" out to my XKR to show them what a propertly detailed car looks like... [/b]</blockquote>
That's fantastic, Michaelb! I'd leave the dealer with a larger skull if I saw that happen. It gives me hope that the head detailer was smart enough (and cared enough) to show his employees your car.

Somehow dealerships always manage to screw something up.

Some two weeks ago I took my wife's RX300 for service , told them nicely but firmly not to wash the car and to put in Mobil1 that was left on a passenger seat. I come back in a few hours to pick it up and see the car hasn't been washed, good job. I get inside and my oil is still there!!! They put some dino stuff instead!

Talk about Lexus service, it's bunch of BS!

Maybe if you spent 400,000 on a car you would get the service that everyone under the moon seems to promise.

It's all marketing hype, I listen to their ads and chuckle to myself "what do they think I am a sucker"

Thanks Honey G,

Now all I need to do is work up the energy to do the full spring treatment on that XKR.

Hmmm, should I Blackfire or Klasse/Souveran?

I guess I had better hurry up and get started if I intend to show the car at the Jaguar Club show in Louisville in three weeks.

Brad, you taking the FHC to L'ville this year?
