Dealer Prep anybody?

Most new cars do not need to be buffed at all. Maybe a clay job , and a express wax or spray wax is all thats needed on a new car. Even some used cars dont need to be buffed. Buffind a car out is a lot of work, if its done right, so some detailers are doing a lot of work and making it worst.

I agree that new cars don't need to be buffed. A proper wash, clay and polish/wax with a PC would do the job. Maybe take, what, 1hr maybe 1 1/2 hrs including doing the tires and wells. I've been to these dealerships and some body shops where they got their towels, polishes etc. laying all around. And don't even get me started on how they take care of their pads :bat :grrr

It'd be nice to have the general public see these things; but I wonder if it would really matter. Most people seem to live in their own little world and not bother to notice anything outside of it.

Maybe Dateline might like to do a little undercover investigation :nervous:

I agree, the general public has been lead to believe that rotary holograms are acceptable. I saw an instance where the dealer had to repair a scratch... They applied paint ok, wetsanded it ok, Then buffed it with a wool pad heavy compound and sent it out the door. The car had TERRIBLE buffer trails where they were attempting to repair. The owner just shrugged it off as acceptable.
