You haven't noticed any problems? I assumed it'd cause streaks and reduce the absorbency of the towels
 
This stuff is a keeper. I bought a bottle yesterday at Walmart. I used a pad to apply ZAIO. Pad got dirty from the AIO and the dirt it removed from the paint. I squirted the DPD on the pad and let it soak. Wow!!!! My pad is clean looking again. For $2.06, it's a definite keeper in the detail bin.
 
SWEET! I have one pad that has been soaked in M21...I wonder if this stuff would work on PC pads...I am afraid it will eat away the glue.



Also wonder what this stuff could do on engines!

Well, the tire dressing applicator I let it soak on is some kind of fabric glued to some foam that is glued to some Velcro (for the handle), and the 48 hours I let it sit didn't seem to bother it at all.



If you try it on an engine report back on how well it works. That is an interesting idea and I might try that sometime..... after I test a small area first!
 
Speaking of tire dressing applicators...cleaning them is just a nightmare. After a thorough handwash with Dawn it is still leaving black, oily residue on my hands.

Regular Dawn or Dawn Power Dissolver? Look at the picture in post #17. I had washed that pad in regular Dawn, which didn't clean it very well, and then did 1/2 of it with the Dawn Power Dissolver..... and it came out almost like new. An decent APC would probably do a pretty good job also.
 
It's amazing. I just took the blue finish pad out of the wash - SFX-3. The blue pad looks fresh and perfect again. Previously it had crud from two ZPC sessions and the recent ZAIO that cleaned the paint and left the pad rather dirty looking. I had to work the crud out with my hands. But visually saw it just disappear from the pad.
 
Like I said, this stuff is amazing, it gets out crap that wouldn't come out before with numerous soakings with regular Dawn, APC or a degreaser. The bonus is that it does not seem to destory pads. If you have doubts, spend the $2 and try it out. :D
 
Before getting to carried away you might want to question the manufacturer of the pads as to what you are using. The possibility exists that a breakdown could be advanced with these products that you might not see for several months.

Most of the major manufacturers of the leading detergents have come out with something similar to the Dawn you are discussing, it is still kind of soon to know all the facts since the "new" formulations have just been hitting the main stream lately. The super WM have about all of them, the smaller WM's only a few to one or so. If your local WM doesn't have it request it at customer service desk, who knows!

But if I were you I would walk very carefully in this territory until it is better understood! A super dissolver of grease/wax might very well strip your vehicle to the "BONE"!

I have cleaned a variety of things with DPD, including a 4" Cyclo pad and various other applicators and brushes, and so far it hasn't harmed anything or caused the Velcro to come loose.

Yeah, I have some of the Snappy stuff and it works pretty well, but the DPD is nice when I don't want to mix up a batch of the Snappy. The PDP also seems to work better on cleaning out tough waxes and stains.



If you like the Snappy you might want to try the DP Polishing Pad Rejuvenator. It is made by Snappy, and as far as I can tell it is the same stuff, but it comes in a jar with a measuring scoop so you don't have to mess with the packets...... plus it's supposed to be a little cheaper than buying it by the packet. Using the jar and scoop will also make it a little easier to mix up a smaller batch.
 
:P its not really something you have to order is it? Just run to walmart.



:( Canadian Walmarts still don't have it!
