Dash and door fade

When I got my 2005 BMW X5, the previous owner never put on any dressing on the doors, dash, and center console.... Now there are fade spots that really annoy me..... What can I use to restore these to make them look new without ruining the parts or making them greasy? I would prefer something with no to mild odour, please!

Thanks for your help!

I don't want to paint! I believe that it can be fix using a dressing..... will 1z Plastic Deep Cleaner 'Plastik-Reiniger' work?

Clean with APC or water and Woolite 8:1 first, then dress with something like Poorboy's Natural Look. As much as I really don't care for the product all that much, IIRC it does a nice job "rehydrating" the panel, if you will.

It worked for me on that same car (02' X5, same material though).

well, I think I have narrowed it down to three items...

1. Pinnacle Vinyl & Rubber Protectant

2. Poorboy's Natural Look Dressing

3. Klasse VLR Protectant

I would go with the Poorboy's or 303 but the first step is to clean it

I use 1z cockpit detailer or sonus cockpit detailer to clean..... but i'm going to try out diluted woolite...

Two very good products comes to mind.

Black Wow (a dressing)

Forever Black (it will dye it black however)

I would try the Black Wow 1st. This product does wonders on very faded surface.

From the pics it looks like it was caused by a caustic cleaner or a solvent. Use a quality water based dressing like 303.

It doesn't look too bad to me. It's an 05 so I have a hard time believing it could fade that fast.

Like other have said, clean with APC(properly diluted) and then I would use 303 with a damp cloth or Meguiars Natural shine. And maintain with Megs Quik interior detailer.

Again this board to the rescue with absoultly nothing but bad advise. ...ugh.... That panel is sunfaded... There is no dressing on the planet that is going to help that. The ONLY way your ever going to ACTUALLY repair that is by repainting it. The color is gone and can not come back by any other means but to re-add it. You can not re-add color by dressing it up. You can cover it it with some dressing for a few moments of half way decent looking results but as soon as that dressing wears off guess what... Yep the fade is back. If you want band-aids by all means go right ahead and band-aid it all you want. If you want o actually fix the problem go get the correct color of trim dye paint and do it the right way the first time.....

Again, I have dealt with this material before, and it looks dry/dull rather quickly. After cleaning, one (or more) "coats" of dressing should have it looking nice again.

I clean my interior every 2 months or so.... I am perfectly fine with applying dressing as long as the fade is "hidden" I def. do not want to paint.... Dont even like to touch up scratches on the exterior.... I think I'm going to pick up some of the klasse from a local store when I go back home..... I don't think they carry poorboys or pennacle and i'm currently in Canada.... unless anyone recommends a good Canadian store???
