Danase Paint Sealant Review With ictures

Hey guys,



Was getting ready to take the GTI for a dyno after having work done on it before track days. Was going to give the car a full detail but with the weather and the race on yesterday I decided against it. So this morning I gave the car a once over.



I had limited time, about 1.5 hours. I ONLY washed, dried, did the tires fast, and applied the sealant. No paint correction at all.



I was quite pleased with this sealant. Applying was ok. I applied by hand, and arm was a bit fatigued at the end. Took about 30 minutes to do the whole car. Had a pleasant wintergreen smell. Removing was a snap. VERY little residue. Will have to see how it holds up over the next few months.



Please let me know if you feel there is something else I could do to make this paint look even better.

nice look there.you can top it with DWG X 2 and then again some Danase sealant....

it will look more wet.
 
That looks great. Has anyone compared DWG vs Danase sealant side by side. Based on the look of those pictures I bet there wouldn't be much of a difference.

DWG worth all the money...i love this stuff
 
The car looks great and dripping wet. Add some Danase Wet Glaze and it will blow you away. The Danase Sealant is one of those products that doesn't get enough attention, but I've heard that it is a great product. One advantage that it has over all other sealants is the instant cure time, that means you don't have to wait for 1/2 a day to apply another layer and you don't have to play chemist mixing a curing additive and shake your arm to death. For that price, you can't go wrong either. I've been thinking of trying it myself.

i agree with the 'cure time problem'.

it is a nice sealant with great results and it has great smell too :p
 
FS Factory Sealant



I've used mseal on mine and the looks are similar. glossy and wet.

cant expect much in terms of depth.

might be a good idea to layer a carnuaba on top , perhaps the 50/50

Bob worked with Chemical Guys to come up with his own custom blends. Chemical Guys will do this for about any detailer supply retailer. There is (or atleast used to be) information about contacting them to custom blend your own products.

Well, that's the story they are telling Bob. Do you really think they are making special runs for each order from each private label they are selling to?
 
I was unaware of the cure time. Will have to apply another coat with DWG X2 inbetween. Should I be worried about the DWG muting the metallic?

Well, if they are not, then they would be committing fraud telling Bob they are giving him his product by his specifications when it really is not. Are you saying Chemical Guys does this?



This is a service Chemical Guys provides, same as Four Star, who do you think makes Ultima and PolyCharger for David? Answer - Four Star, look on the package. It would be impossible for guys like Bob or David to go out build or rent a plant and buy the equipment needed to blend their products. It is more feasible to hire someone who already has the equipment to blend your products for you.

Not at all, it makes the metallic flakes pop even more.
 
what is the product like?



Is it watery in consistency and easy to wipe on, or is it a thicker creamy type of product?



I used DG 101/11/105 this weekend, and the look was good in the end, but the thicker products were a PITA after using Ultima PGP and OS recently. Never thought I'd say this TBH, but speed and ease of use are really factoring into my thinking.... I do really like the idea of being able to layer it same day though :cool:



oh yes, any clues on durability from any experienced users? Will it do 6-8 weeks in spring/summer weather?

The product is indeed creamy and applying was not bad. I am used to Carnuba, so it was tough not to want to make sure each stroke of the pad had complete coverage (I was told sealant needs to be applied ultra thin, and it may look like it is not even on the paint).
 
I appreciate the good info in this thread, and the pics look great. Darnit...yet another product combo I'm going to have to try. :)
