I had decided to try and remove some swirls/scratches from the wood interior of my prelude, so I purchased some plastx. Started by hand, and it was looking better, so I broke out the dremel to try and get everything out. Well the only polishing pad I had was one of the white ones, about a quarter in size, and 2 quarters wide. I really should have gotten a different one(at least a softer one), but I thought it would work.
Anyways, there were about 3 little spots where I apparently held it there slightly longer then I should have, and it made a little dent in the plastic. Not huge, but big enough to feel if you run your hand over it.
I dont know what to do! I know it's going to annoy the hell out of me until I fix it, but what can you do to smooth out that fake plastic wood trim? The only thing I could think of is some kind of sanding. Would some really fine 2000 grit work? Or scratch it even more?
I can get a couple pic's tomorrow, but its dark out right now. Thanks for any help!
