i drive me car out every single day to school and leave it in a open parking lot everyday. what's the best wax to buy in this situation? and how often would i have to reapply. i live in San Diego, CA.

What color car do you have?

For a daily driver, I'd seriously consider using a polymer sealant, like Klasse or Zaino. Most polymer sealants can be topped with a wax, but if you use Zaino, this is not recommended.

One Grand Blitz is a fantastic wax for daily drivers. It's exceptionally durable and looks great. Several places in California carry it, though you might have to look a little. You can find a directory of retailers who carry Blitz here

in general most waxes won't last you past a few weeks. pinnacle is nice, but more pricey then mothers or meguiers which you can get at any store.

it really depends on a few items.

1) how much you car about shine

2) how often you want to wsah/wax

3)budget

check the product reviews for pictures and info on how long items last. Personally, I've been using Mothers on my white daily driver that's outside all the time too. It works fine, but the shine fades after 1 or 2 weeks, at which point I'm usually washing anyway.

It's cheap and protects well. Smell is kinda offensive IMO.

Which Mother's product are you using? The Pure Carnauba wax I used had a delicious bubble gum smell to it I really liked. I am surprised that you find the smell offensive.
