While we're on the topic...
Why do some people have the need to follow DACP with a polish and some don't? Why do some experience hazing?
Is there a consensus choice for the follow-up polish? Menzerna FP?
Why: different paint and different people. Some paint is a lot harder/softer than others, and people are very different, both in how they use products and in what satisfies them.
Some people don't break down the DACP enough when using it with the PC, and that leads to more-than-micro marring. Some paints just won't attain a smooth finish with DACP without the heat/friction of a rotary no matter how long you work it.
Light/dark, no real difference depending on how you inspect; unless you're talking about single-stage, it's all clearcoat. It's just that most people can see micromarring on dark colors and only a few of us are bothered by it on light ones.
So far, I don't recall anybody being unhappy with FP as a follow-up. That's more than you can say for the obvious post-DACP product, Meg's #82 (not a flame, just an observation).
Oh, and while I too consider DACP pretty safe, note that last year a well-respected and knowledgeable Autopian cut through the clear on a Benz using PC/DACP/cutting pad. Gotta always be careful.
