I have been designing a paint correction system for the Cyclo and now have some rough "prototype's" of the correction pads from Cyclo Toolmakers and thought I would share with you all how the testing is going.
I won't get into exactly what these news pads are, nor show any pictures of them (yet) but I will briefly explain that this new system puts the Cyclo in a whole new area.....from polishing to the leveling of paint. The Cyclo "may" (if all goes well) rival the power of a rotary!
This though is not recommended for newbies as one can now literally burn paint using the new system. There is now a bit of a learning curve to using the Cyclo with this new system BUT after one correct the paint problems then you use the Cyclo as you normally would to finish the job out.
How Well Does It Work?
Today I leveled the paint down on a black Porsche fender with a realy nasty scratch and bad marring. Here is a picture of the scratch (within the circle).
Here is another picture which shows the bad marring.
Here is a picture AFTER the paint leveling steps and then polished out with the Cyclo orange pads and Menzerna PG and IP.
You can see that the scratch is gone but some slight marring is still present. So my final step was white Cyclo pads with FP. Look at the picture below.....not bad eh? Especially considering that no rotary ever touched the paint!
Ron is impressed with the new system (Ron now has his own Cyclo
) and he is going to help me work out some rough edges with the new system. I am not sure when this new system will be ready for public sale nor do I know if it will ever be ready for sale........it all depends on what the next few weeks show as we continue to test, seeking to find out just what the limits and dangers are.
Thank you,
Anthony
