My Audi clear is hard. I've found the Cyclo to be more effective for marring removal than the PC. I guess it's due to the dual heads and well balanced machine creating a bit more heat or whatnot :dunno. The PC still has it's place in my arsenal. I use it mainly with a 4" pads most often to spot polish where the Cyclo can't fit. It takes more effort, usually more time to get results thanthe Cyclo in this application. I still use the PC with "normal size" 6-6.5" pads during a full detail to apply AIO. AIO via Cyclo seems to flash too quickly. It applies better via PC.
The Cyclo is my most "cherished" polisher Unless I have a tiny spot to work on I always reach for it first.
I have used both many of times and for the money that a Cyclo costs I would much reather see someone buy a PC and a rotary. You can get a PC and a Makita 9227 (or DeWalt 849 or PC 7428) for less than the price of a Cyclo alone.
Yeah, and I have the "Ultimate Trinity": Cylco, PC, and Metabo Rotary. If you're going to spend some money, SPEND SOME MONEY! They all have a place in my arsenal too. I usually use what I feel
Here's a link to my Cyclo review. I got one for Christmas and the more I use it the more I like it. I use the Cyclo & PC 99% of the time. My rotary is collecting cob webs. There are some spots (around mirrors) where the Cyclo feels a bit awkward, but overall I really enjoy the feel of the machine and it's polishing abilities.
Nice review. I've read both bad and good reiviews on the Cyclo. However, more seem to be good than bad.
It sounds like the Cyclo is more aggressive than the PC and slightly less than the rotary. That certainly should make it a worthwhile detailing tool to have around. To be honest, for many, many years, I used a only a rotary or worked by hand. Just in the last couple of years I have started using the PC. Having said that, I'm adding the Cyclo to my Christmas "wish list"!
Let see now........
That's one Air Force blaster on the wish list at around $200, and one Cyclo with pads at around $300
Yes, it would be fair to say that the cyclo sits between the PC and rotary in terms of aggressiveness. The cyclo can/will generate heat, just not as quick as a rotary. It looks awkward, but it has a nice balanced feel to it.
