Cutting pads: Do you prefer flat or VC?

If I decided to purchase a rotary in the future, would it be wise to buy a new backing plate (7"?) and some new, larger (7.5"?) pads to go along with it? Or can I use my PC backing plate and Sonus DAS/SFX Pads? How large are the Propel pads? Which sizes do they come in?

If you go with the 7.5" LC pads I believe they take a 6" backing plate. The Propel pads are 7" pads that use a 5" backing plate. You can use existing pads with a rotary but the backing plate on a PC is not interchangeable with a rotary.
