curb rash repair

i have some custom hubcaps for my 71 vette that i'd like to refurbish. where's the best place to get 1/4" tape to cover the fins for painting and is there any way to polish out the lil bit of curb rash that they have on them. the hubcaps are stainless steel

You can get tape at the auto parts store or Walmart.

I've wet sanded curb rash out of its light. If its deep it's more difficult to do by hand but it can be done. When cleaned up some on my wheels I started off with 800 grit paper and worked up to 2000 then polished out by hand
