I have a heavily swirled black car and have purchased a porter cable 7424 along with 6'' counterweight and yellow/white pads.

I am planning on doing the following:

1. wash car

2. clay car

3. Apply 3M Rubbing Compound 05973

4. Follow with 3M Polish 05996

The driver side of my car was resprayed about a year ago and the shop never wetsanded so I am planning on using 2000 grit on that side followed with steps 3-4.

Should I get something less aggressive for the rest of the car that isn't going to be wetsanded?

1.)what year and make of car?

2.) throw the rubbing compound in the trash

3.) lets see some pics of what you feel needs to be wetsanded

1.) SHOULD be soft and easy to fix

2.) WAY too aggressive

3.) that would be great thanks

do you have any other polishes?

what kink of pads?

I purchased only yellow/white pads.

I haven't purchased any polishes yet.

Which would you use?

If your paint is as soft as Lexus paint usually is...

Menz IP and Menz FP II work great. I used orange and white with that combo ;)
