I have 3 colors of melted crayons in my carpet in the mini van. It has grey carpet and the colors is yellow, orange and blue or purple. How can i get them out? I have some dry ice if that can help and a stream cleaner(small one). Thanks

2 choices heat or cold. Take a sheet or terry towel. Place over crayon. Iron the caryon over the towel. Make sure you heat it up to the point there you smell the crayon melting. Wait a 30 - 60 sedconds and peel the towel back most of the crayon should be on the towel. may require a few applications. (BE CAREFULL NOT TO MELT NYLON CARPET)

Freeze it with dry ice, regular ice or aerosol gum remeover and chip away with butter knife and vacuum chips.

Good Luck!

My vapor cleaner makes short work of crayon in the carpet. I wouldn't mess with the iron if I were you. I can't say from experience but I'm thinking other ways are easier and safer.

If I'm not using my vapor steamer I would use a good spot remover to break it down and then extract it with your vacuum. Don't scrub at it.

If using an iron then use a paper sack to cover the crayon and then iron over the bag as often as needed to remove the offending culprits.

You may need several bags for this....and use a single layer.

Scrap off as much of the crayon as you can prior to doing this.

Small amount of dish soap mixed with water to remove any left overs. You need a degreaser type cleaner. WD-40 works great.....pre-soak in vinegar, blot up as much of the crayon then spray with WD-40, using a butter knife or carpet brush to remove the rest. This methods works nicely and doesn't involve any heat from irons or steamers.

man, i had a similar problem before. i scraped the melted crayon on my car carpet but it did not produce good results. i'll try to follow anthony's suggestion.

man, just a quick update. i followed anthony's suggestion and i can say that it has improved results; however, it has not still completely removed the melted crayon on my car carpet. i am probably doing it incorrectly.

No sometimes the fibers get stained and that could be the case here
