Hey all, first time poster, but long time lurker.
I come with questions regarding the paint on the hood of my 96 Grand Prix GTP. As you can see in the photos that I attached, the clearcoat on the hood has lots of tiny cracks in it. In the last picture, you can see that the paint on the hood has got a whitish tint as well (ignore the bumper cover though, that was the work of the previous owner
) This is factory paint, and the paint on the roof and trunk do not suffer from this problem.
Is there anything that can be done to fix these cracks that doesn't involve repainting the hood? I realize that repainting is the best option, but that's not affordable right now.
I am hesitant on polishing or wetsanding until I can get some advice from the pros here on how to handle this. The last thing I want to do is make it worse. So is this fixable, or am I better off waiting and repainting?
For the record, I've got a PC 7424, Excel pads (grey through yellow), and Poorboys polishes and waxes in my detailing arsenal.
