CQuartz or Opti-Coat for Aluminum Wheels?

I need to seal some uncoated, bare, high polished aluminum wheels. I need to decide whether to use CQuartz or Opti-coat.

For me the bottom line is - if Opti-Coat does not alter the appearance of the wheel after applying it, then I would probably go with opti-coat. But I have no way of knowing this without input from you guys. Many have commented that CQuartz does a better job if appearance is important to you, even though it doesn't last as long and needs reapplication later.

Any educated opinions?

i think anything you put on polished aluminum will cause a slight loss of shine. i don't put anything on my billet wheels, but then again it is a garage queen so only sees a few thousand miles a year. i do use a spray polish for touch ups (kinda like a qd but for aluminum).

You picked some highly priced options.... Maybe Opti-Seal would be a better choice. Then after sealing them use FK 425 or Aquawax to keep the dusting down.

I recently applied Opti-coat to my vehicle, while people don't go about raving about it's looks I dont think it's going to take anything away from the looks. May not enhance them any but they shouldn't need to be enhanced, protection is what you're after.

Those choices are a bit overkill, IMO. I just don't like/believe all the marketing claims many products promote. Really, this isn't rocket science. You can get excellent, durable results with several other sealants at a fraction of the cost.
