CQuartz DLux Review

I think I missed this thread. What's the long term durability?

It's been close to 4 month! :bigups

Believe it or not both sides look good and I'm very impressed with the durability if the products. Once application in the fall should get me pretty much through the winter....:bigups

Thanks for the update Bobby. Still holding up for you?

Re: CarPro CQuartz DLux Review - Update

Today was a gorgeously sunny day in New England and what better day then to do a little update on a product test I started back in July....

I cannot count how many times I've washed and dried my truck, the number of wind driven rain storms it's seen, hurricane Sandy, and good Lord knows how much hot sun it's seen since July.

This is a 6 month update for CarPro DLux and Solution Finish...

I washed the mirror on my truck using Duragloss 901 and warm water. They weren't very dirty and more like a light layer of dust but nevertheless they received a nice wash, rinse, and dry....

CarPro DLux

CarPro DLux still on duty and performing very well. Both the soapy water and rinse water beading nicely.

After a thorough dry, the deep rich black look still shinning through!

Solution Finish

There's little difference in performance between the two and here's a few photos of its performance.

Dry and still looking great!

Conclusion:

I personally feel both products performed very well over a 6 month period with NO reapplication.

I did notice a horizontal fade line midway up the passengers side mirror indicating that Solution Finish is beginning to degrade to the point where a reapplication is necessary.

The CarPro DLux side shows no signs of needing reapplication as of today.

Based on these results CarPro DLux is the overall winner of this test and is the product I would endorse.....

Excellent review! Can DLux also be used on painted and chrome plated plastic?

I know it can be used on painted wheels but I'm not sure what it would do on chrome... You could clean and coat an area chromed and test for yourself. If it didn't give you the desired affect simply polish off using a chrome or metal polish...

The mirrors are still dark and pleasing to the eye. The no longer exhibit that rich almost painted look like in the beginning but they're far from that dull gray when I started...:bigups
