on PPG Cinnabar Red Paint (Re-painted in August '03)

I did the S100 coat about 2 weeks ago. Shine is still holding strong. I think the pics speak for themselves.

Nice work as always, Sean. NXT and #16 is a great combo, so I am not suprised at all how nice NXT and S100 look on your paint.

Very nice, I am loving NXT + 16 as well.

The paint is beautiful! Why did you decide not to paint the side skirts and front lip? Or were you thinking of adding the OEM kit?

Thanks for all the compliments.

I really need to swing by West Marine and pick up some #16.

ebpcivicsi: This is still in winter trim :( . I had a mishap on the highway on the way home from college for Thanksgiving and busted one of my rims. I waited over the winter and didn't order a new one. I called a little over a month ago and they are on backorder everywhere. I settled and purchased a silver one (instead of gunmetal) and now they are being painted.

Here was the original write up:

"Well, finished college yesterday to go home for this 9 day Thanksgiving Break. Took an extra day up there and stayed with my girl Liz. Threw the 3rd coat of Klasse on my entire car and rims too. She was shinnnnnnning! My TEG that is.

So I pack up and get on my way around 5pm. Get from CT to the Long Island Expressway. Traveling in the middle lane, flowing with traffic at about 60mph and !BANG! I feel a wobble and pull off the next exit. Contact the police and they give me the "No Fault" bullsh*t on me hitting a huge ?pothole/bump? (did not see it). I then drove a lil further to a Mobil Station and my tire was now flat. I really can't stand NY and their GODDAMN CONSTRUCTION! I will probably write a letter and send pics, but whether or not I get a check will be the question. Anyways, here are the pics:

My father then drove about 40 mins to where I was with 2 stock GSR wheels. I then drove home with front/rear mismatched wheels. LoL! It drove smooth, but the wheel is off a smidgen. "

This is what it will look like very soon. The color of the wheels is chopped. You may love it or hate it, but right now I love it and it's very rare to body match your rims to your paint (silver, black, and white don't count). I will also be painting the calipers silver to bring out the polished lip.

I understand being in "winter trim" I am still there myself. Trying to decide on new rims, or not.

I have also bent my share of wheels in potholes, really sucks.

I like the look of the red wheels, atleast it is different..

Just curious what brand the wheels are, they look like velox, but I can't see the center cap.

Nice teg, I was going to guess konig blatants.

I am still on stockies with my Si, I can change them, but for some reason I just love the way the stockers look and cant bring myself to doing it.

They are Exel V8's. I bought them from www.wheelmax.com . They sold both the Exel's and Velox's at the time of my purchase and they pushed the Exel's harder...probably becuase they created that brand to exclusively sell there. Anyways, they informed me they were lighter and stronger than the Velox and for a price of

$659 for a set (4) of 18x7.5" Exel V8's with 215/35/ZR18 tires shipped to my door, I would've been a fool to pass it up.

They had a huuuuge blowout sale when I purchased them and since then I have yet to see prices that low.

Diggs: I forget, but it was somewhere in the area of like 2 months. The NXT was still beading and had some slickness.
