Countdown to Zaino Z-8

I look at it this way, I will pay what ever for a top quality product. From what has been said Z8 is Z6 on steriods. I can't believe Z6 can be improved ,if Z8 is better I have no probelm with cost. Hey I blew $70 on Souvran. I don't understand why some people will buy products at walmart and try to compare it to top quality products and complain about the price. Obviously everyone on this site is passionate about their car care so why worry about a few dollars.

Exactly. :)

It's all R&D cost I imagine. ZFX for example cannot be than expensive to produce, can it?

For those who have used Z8 already: Is the spray sealant less durable than adding another coat? Is it something to boost the shine/base coats between washes? Basically I'm asking, whether it's more similar to the liquid sealant or more similar to the QD.

Zaino is durable to start with (i've never disputed that) so why buy a spray sealant to "layer" on top of it when you can just add a new layer of Z2 pro? i highly doubt the spray sealant will look any better than Z2 pro-and 1 bottle of Z2 pro will last almost anyone a year or more

It is not a QD it is a spray sealant. I think Zaino wanted to produce a topper that wasn't a nuba, but had very good results. Many people, including me, talked about topping Z with products like s100 and Natty's amoung others. I know Zaino never endorsed topping their polish with a nuba. I have emailed Sal a couple times through the years, and when I mentioned topping he would get a little chapped. Z8 is supposed to leave the slickest surface yet, and is terribly easy to use. I think the combination will be a powerful 1/2 punch, Z2Pro for deep wet look that's durable/ and Z8 to add a slick surface and a nice shine. Z8 will be the perfect thing to use weekly, and your Z2 can be used less often. I was lucky enough to get a small sample of Z8 in my last order, and I was very impressed. Easy as water to use and leaves a super slick surface.

Just bought 2 bottles of Z6, along with a new bottle of Z2 Pro, even though I have an almost full bottle of the "old" Z2 but I've heard such good things about the Pro I just couldn't bring myself not to invest in it. If I'd used the old Z2 I'd always be wondering how much better the Pro would be.

So now I'm going to be in the same situation with the Z6. I'll HAVE to invest in the Z8! :wall Can I use both? If the Z8 is a step above Z6 I guess it can be used in the actual application of the Z2 and I can just use the Z6 as a QD, yes?

Meantime I'm waiting for the temps to warm up so I can do a full Zaino detail. Hopefully within the next couple of weeks because I need to do it before I go on vacation with the car.

I did the same exact thing of buying two bottles of Z6 and still having a 3/4 of a bottle of Z2 AND Z5. I plan on using Z2 on everyone's else car except for mine. Mine I will interchange layers of Z5 and Z2PRO.

For your situation I would interchange between layers of Z2 and make sure the Z2 PRO is the final coat. OR You could sell the Z2 bottle to someone you know cheap so you wont feel it is wasted.

Z6 you could use in between washes. While the Z8 you can use right after a wash.

Do not throw away the Z2. Z2 over Z2-PRO gives a nice appearance. Z2 gives the finish a crystal-like effect over the wetness, gloss, and depth Z2-PRO. :xyxthumbs

My regimen on black and white vehicles: Following claying, rotary and PC prep.

Paint cleanser (beta product- no wash necessary)

Z6

Z5/ZFX x 2 - Z8 is spritzed on applicator

Z6 between each coats

Z2-PRO/ZFX x 2 using Z8 again on applicator

48 hour sealant rest period

Z6 wipe down

Z2/ZFX x 1

:xyxthumbs

I was waiting for the Z2-Pro to come out before I stocked up again...and before I could order it, rumors of Z8 came out. So now I'm waiting on it....

I love Z, but it's a PITA to order when you only need one item becasue of (a) their site doesn't store customer info and (b) their shipping on one item is a little pricey.

I agree. I'm also waiting on the Z8 so I can make an order thats worth it.

BlkZ......I like your idea about using the old Z2 with new Z2Pro. I dont feel so bad now. I have almost a full bottle of the old and was feeling a bit guilty of ordering the new.

Excellent idea. For my initial coats (going on new paint soon) and the final topcoats I'll use the Z2-Pro but "alternate" the middle layers with the Z2. Seems a shame to waste the regular Z2. I literally have a full bottle of it and it's only a year old.

I was thinking the same thing. I'll use the Z6 as the QD and use the Z8 after freshly applying the Z2 Pro. Seems the Z6 and Z8 are designed to be used in conjunction with one another rather than the Z8 outright replacing the Z6 and rendering it obsolete.

This is also means that I'll have to order two bottles of Z8.

LOL I just literally ordered two bottle of Z8 today! Great minds think a like! :xyxthumbs

:xyxthumbs I'm going to run down and get some Z8 on Saturday morning. I have to pick up some new towels and plan to do an entire Zaino detailing on my car (new paint job!) and I really want check out the Z8. I'm hoping the store has it. Usually they are well stocked.:woot:

Then all I need are two nice 60+ degree days, hopefully on a weekend.
