Count me in---S100

holly:eek: thats alot of jars, i want more jars:xyxthumbs love the S100 wax, ill get one or 2 more jars this summer for sure, with RE to IHG, i havent tried the IHG then top with S100 yet, i will this summer, i only used IHG once last year for a show, it was hard to buff!!! should you not let it haze before buffing off:nixweiss

I have a stash of 6 tubs of the stuff currently :D

Id say forget the IHG, it is hard to buff. I have had much better results for less effoert with megs hand polish or no. 7. Either of these over GEPC, topped with p21s is a wow!

Richpug306sxi...I agree...IHG can be a real pain to buff sometimes. I might give Megs No 7 a try over S100. I still have 3 jars left...:D

I prefer megs hand polish to the #7 ( i have both) The HP is fractionaly easier to work with, both are a breeze compared to IHG. I may try it one more time, and then i think it will be put on the' for dad to use ' shelf!:eek:

Can S100 be applied in direct sun?

Yeah, if it is 35 degrees outside.

I've tried it in the sun on an 80 degree day and you have to wipe it on in very small sections and wipe off instantly. It works much better in the shade.

It has less to do with sunlight as it does with the temperature of the paint. It works better on cooler paint, as Scott said.

Ah...S100 the wax of the gods!!!

Hmmm.........I wonder if I am hooked on the product?? lol lol!!!:xyxthumbs
When I saw that picture my first thought was S100 must be going out of business. :lol

Hey Nag!

LOL!! I know, my wife said the same thing!!:o But, it is really hard to get in my area, and since I love the stuff and I would have to order it anyway, I figured I better stock up!!

Next week, S100 SEC....!! :xyxthumbs

All I have to say is the acronyms section has to be updated. Its so hard for a rookie like to figure out what the hell you guys are talking about at time...... So frustrating to hear such rave reviews on products but not be able to figure out what they are.....

AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH

:angry

LOL!!! Sorry Buffer!! I remember when I first joined, I was going nuts trying to figure things out as well!!:D

S100 = Brand name

S100 Paste Carnuaba Wax (jar in previous photo)

S100 SEC = Shine Enhancing Cleanser

Clearkote Brand:

VM = Vanilla Moose

MW = Moose Wax

2hotford thanks for the definitions lol! :D. Is the SEC ( now that i know what it is) a glaze? Like you could use that in place of a wax also? Curious. Can you top em one on top of the other like SEC/S100 and then S100/SEC? (i'm a newbie don't flame me ;)).

MikesJo,

SEC is not quite a glaze, more like a paint cleaner. Very mildly abrasive, but more a chemical cleaner. It offers no protection (wax, sealant, etc) so you should plan to use something on top of SEC. SEC/S100 paste wax is the intended procedure. S100 is part of the surface preparation (the last step) and the wax is apply afterwards. If you want to add more coats right away (within a couple days), you can apply S100 by itself. After a month when you want to apply S100 again, you could use SEC, but don't have to. You do not have to use SEC, but most people to notice better results with it (or something similar).

In regards to SEC:

I recently

-washed

-clayed

-quick wash to remove clay lubricant

-SEC

-S100

I was amazed at how "dirty" the applicator pad got when using the SEC -- it definitely was cleaning off stuff that the wash and clay did not.

Very informative APT, thanks. So the SEC strips off the sealant and wax. Is it ok to use a sealant and then the s100 wax?
