I've had more than one dealership approach me and ask me to provide training for their "detailers" in the last couple weeks. All I've told them is that I don't have a curriculum for that type of training built yet, but I would let them know when I did. Honestly, I don't even know what to charge for that kind of thing. I've been a professional trainer for most of the last ten years, but I've never done freelance consulting work before. Even the contracting that I do as a paralegal doesn't really help me set a price for this type of thing. There is an industry standard for that kind of thing and I don't really have to think. Is there an industry standard for on site training of dealership detailers? They have asked me for a full 8 hour course and there is certianly a lot that can be trainined on.
I'm looking forward to this new fork in the road for my detailing work and would appreciate any advice from guys who have been here before. I'm not sure exactly what would be the best way to proceed at this point.
