Concours Restoration "The Ultimate Detail"

Auto Detail & Restoration
I was curious if the administrators and members would be curious of a restoration thread. Winter is when my focus shifts to restoration. I have a very unique project once owned by a famous person. The vehicle was totaled in an accident but has significant auto history. I will be doing all the work other than frame set up and engine. Interior will be done by my upholster. I will install.
It is a full frame off Concours restoration. The plan is to only post enough pics to show progress occasionally so it does not get to picture heavy. With permission I will start the the thread soon. It has to be done by spring so I have to really work hard and put some serious time in. This will only be available here or my website (once developed).
Any interest?
Thanks John

Automotive restoration fascinates me to say the least. I would love to have the facility, tools, and budget to do a complete restoration on a classic automobile.....:bigups

Interested - Absolutely!!

No. Cars are stupid, especially rare ones or ones once owned by famous people. Not to mention how boring it is to see all the work and craftsmanship one would put into such an endeavor. Yawn. Keep that stuff to yourself, it's not wanted.

;)

OF COURSE YOU SHOULD POST THAT!!

I guess sounds like it's all good. I will sit down this weekend and gather my pictures and information to get something up and started.
Thanks for the responses.

Way to go John, this is the first "Teaser" without pics that I've seen. I'm really looking forward to it.

We really don't want pictures. A live web cam is more in keeping with the quality of what is expected by AutopiaForums members. J/K. I figure if the project is already completed then pictures of the build would be very interesting. A lot of us have dreamed of doing a ground up restoration but very few will ever have the opportunity.

This will be car #11 of frame off restorations I've been fully involved with. Plus around 30 frame on tear down rebuilds.
This will be the first on my own.

This one won everywhere but Pebble

Sorry for the crappy pictures. A web cam would be cool but some things will be done off site to keep from totally trashing the shop. Like renting a paint booth.

I am working on this thread. Due to some complications with a hard drive failure I may have spoken too soon.
It will be posted asap. I'm letting the pros handle it but out of 8200 business and personal pictures we are not going to get all back including our wedding. The back up has failed but they are doing their best. I'm working on the written part and history while waiting.
Sorry.

Holy crap man sorry to hear that. Ive had computers crash and lost tons of pics and stuff, but never to that magnitude. I cant even imagine :(

Sorry? No apologies needed! It's a shame you lost all those files, I hope you can at least get some of them salvaged!

Now I'm wary of my sole hard drive (2 TB external drive) that has no back ups! I think I might invest in some online data storage...
