Lacquer paint is much harder than BC/CC.

Well, *white* lacquer is.



The black lacquer my GMs had back in the day was *soft*, and so it is the ss lacquer on my Jag. Generally, I always found non-white ss lacquer to be pretty easy to correct :nixwiess Maybe it's because most of the lacquer I've worked on was old-tech paint on older cars.

Will a PC break down the Presta UCC? What about the 3m compounds? I know that Presta uses aluminum oxide as the abrasive. What does 3m use?

Not if it's like the old PI-III Extra Cut, but that might not be the case :nixweiss I sure wouldn't try it with any pad bigger than 4".



I've always had the impression that the only very aggressive stuff that'll work 100% by PC is the 1Z line.
