edit: sorry about that guys, i'll know i'll have to go to FPII, since it did haze up last time. Just wondering if i should pick up HC or EC+OP if i already have ssr 2.5. Thanks picus and Accumulator.

Awesome thread guys, this is so helpful since i'm contemplating on whether or not to buy. I have a ssr 2.5 right now, but do you think heavy cut will be as agressive as it? I want to try soemthing out as SSR 2.5 leaves hazing on black bmw paint. I"m using a PC with 6.5" LC Orange Flat Pad.

HTEC is much more aggressive than SSR 2.5 and finishes down WAY better. I'd say HTEC is 95% as strong as SSR 3, but SSR leaves the paint a HUGE MESS...so there is no comparison in my experience.

Get both and ditch all the SSR abrasive-line of products. The SSRs are among my least favorite in all regards.

+1

All things considered, they are just nothing special. I do keep them around for doing a car in full sun, though that seems to only happen about once a year and *never* involves the rotary. If I am polishing via rotary, I need a controlled environment.

+2, and actually the hi temps work in the sun. AND, if those don't Optimum will. No reason to use the SSRs anymore, imo. I like the rest of poorboys products a lot, but dislike the SSRs.

I ditched those SSR's a long time ago. All it took was for one job to come back and me to figure out why it did. 2.5 must have wax or something in it that does some hiding long enough for you to get the subject away from you but man does it go away in a week or two. Haze city!

Yeah, I too like the rest of Poorboys products.

And regarding the use of SSRs in the sun, I think Optimum's products work much better in the sun. But I too refuse to work in the sun - never again!

So does that include the EC AND OP, HC? or do I just need EC and HC. I'm using only a PC right now but I'm probably going to upgrade to a Rotary within the next couple of months so until then i need something that i can use between. Which Hi-Temp 1 step polish seal/wax should i get? Are they even useful? HI temp has 2, 1 with caranuba and 1 with a sealant. So on the list...

1) HC

2) EC

3) TOL Vinyl

4) TOL Carpet

contemplating:

5) light cut + wax/sealant (which one if it's even any good?)

6) OP (to mix with the EC)

7) TOL Snap and Seal

If there's any other better alternatives that'll be great. I'll place the order by Sunday? Any comments will be great guys. Best of all... I'm getting rid of the SSR (sounds horrible from what you guys say, hazes on me most of the time)

If it were me I'd get EC and HC, OP to mix with the EC, and then stick with FPII or 106FF to finish.

I just ran out of HC; bummer too because ordering from TOL means crazy duty for us Canucks. :/

SSRs are not horrible...just not the best IMO.

I don't have much of a need for combination products like polish and wax in one - they don't do other real well...those things are generally designed for the "shot-cut" detailers found at body shops or dealerships.

IMO, you can use EC and HC with PC or Rotary...and Optimum Polish can improve the working properties of both by mixing a little in. Plus you can use the OP for final finishing.

BTW, I've never seen anyone post their detailing prices on their signature...not sure if everyone will be cool with that...plus I woudn't count on it generating any business for you.

Nope, not cool at all . . . it violates our spam rules.

artikxscout, I've modfied your signature to remove pricing and the request that people contact you. You may give the name of your business (no link, no URL), but pricing crosses the line.

Thanks!

Sorry about that, it's cool with me though, and sorry to anyone that it might have offended, didn't mean to.. I had it on bfc forum and i just copied it from there.

RAG, thanks for all of the comments. If it hels, i could always try to buy some extras and ship it to you through USPS, i don't know how they go as for duty but it shoudln't be out of my way to do so. I do a lot of ebay things so i visit it quite often. Let me know, but i don't know if it'll save you much, if you can do research, then i'd be happy to send it to you. If anything else i'd be left with an extra HC on my hands. PM me.

I'm not sure I follow...but in any case, I don't think I need any more products (too many/much as it is).

He got us confused; he was offering to ship them to me in Canada via USPS, since TOL will only ship UPS (which equals crazy brokerage). No worries though, as I mentioned the Hi Temp products won't be accepted by USPS. :)
