Coming Soon To A DVD Near You!

Another thing that i think would be cool (for the interior at least) is show how to fix some vynal snags and little tears. I know in my car, all over the dash it looks like somebodys cat did a dance on it with little snags and tears in it. If you could show us how to fix that, that would be a livesaver on Lots of interiors. Sounds really cool though

Heck, with all this response, you might want to consider doing a series...

Irene and I spoke about this but we both decided, while a good idea, might be better suited for a second DVD, perhaps if we do a more professional type of DVD.

LeatherMaster does have some leather repair kits but since they are in Italy getting them to ship one for me to try out is difficult. I hear they are great kits though.

We'll see what happens as we go along. I know I am covering odor removal, using a steam vapor cleaner and also using a fogger.

Thanks for the input,

Anthony

Spoiledman.....

Babes and bikini's? I'll see what I can do:rolleyes:

Also, you need to make sure they randomly walk around in the background during the entire video... It's a sure way to make sure there aren't any dull spots to the dvd.

And the best way to find them... run to a local college campus and you'll be able to pay them in beer! :up

:cool: I think everyone has covered what I would like to see in the video. Serious defect correction and various type of stain removal interest me the most.

Yep, I agree. If you have never used a steam vapor cleaner then you will like that segment but I may not be able to go to deep into serious paint correction because it will be geared more to the enthusiast/amateur. I am sure I can cover things like mild scratches, hard water spots, etc.

I am pleased to see there is an interest for something like this:xyxthumbs

:D Thanks Scott, I will have a few nice cars to demo the exterior portion on and some real dogs for the interior portions.

Well I am sure there "might" be a forum special of some sort I don't know if they will be "signed". I feel rather awkward doing this because in my mind I am thinking......."Who the hell am I that someone would want a signed copy?"

Terry and Sullybob,

Yes! The Cyclo will be a big part of the exterior segment and may even work itself into the interior segment to demonstrate its carpet shampooing ability.

I'll make a note to try and keep things on the "fast & effective" track for the pros, like the wheel and tire cleaning.

I am looking for a car with a rear plastic window thathas some scratches in it. I have one in mind and I'll see if they agree to letting me use it.

Thank you to all for your input.

Anthony

How about scratches on glass. I got some of that on my windsheilds. I love vids.

FWIW, my background is vdei and film production (Iwriter/producer/director) and that is a huge part of my agency business to this day and I would be more than happy to give you any assistance or advice you need N/C to help you with this project just let me know

Sounds like a great plan !!! So, like...where's the pre-order link ?:p

That sounds like agreat idea:up I'll speak to Irene about doing this as we get close to wrapping it all up (that was "movie lingo":D )

I talked with Irene last night and she looked at all the posts in this thread and said that we may need to make a 2 hour DVD instead of a 1 hour AND she also wants me to "sign" the first 50 DVDs to the buyers:rolleyes:

Lastly and bestess.......random DVDs will have a "prize" included. A gift certificate will be added to random DVDs, of what amount I have no idea yet, but you can use it for products or whatever at Top of the Line, now that's cool:xyxthumbs

kevmo....

Thanks for the offer, if we happen to do a second series and we need some help I'll give you a PM, thanks again:)

Thanks again for the great support and ideas.

Anthony,

Another topic might be "how to deal with awkward places and unusual occurances". By way of examples;

around the fog light recesses a lot of cars have these days;

being careful near creases and sharp angles in body panels;

how to work on small radius curves in body panels;

old and new (road striping) paint removal & overspray;

taping off (including how to get tape to adhere to recently treated plastic and rubber and alternatives);

dealing with painted plastic body panels, as opposed to painted sheet metal;

scratch removal and polishing chrome (for the classic car addicts);

stone bruise/paint chip repair;

Put me down for a video, autographed, of course.

Best regards,

Nick

if you have enough gumption to take on a project and do a quality job i would be interested in a dvd. i also would like a signed copy. but only if it is signed personally and not by a stamp.

good luck on the project and keep us informed

Hey guys....

First, No...this is not the video on TOL for $200. That is from the folks at Rightlook. It is a nice video that deals with mainly pros and those seeking to start a detailing business. The one I am doing will be on a DVD with a DVD style menu where you can watch what you want to watch.....it may be interactive also to some degree.....not sure yet as the BUDGET we have determines what we will do.

Our DVD will be more for the weekend warrior and the enthusiast first, pro second. I have finished the INTERIOR script and while we were hoping for a Christmas release this has been put back until Spring 2005 due to a personal loss in my family.

I am working now on the EXTERIOR script and let me tell you all......it is very difficult to write down what you are used to physically doing...trying to transfer that into words and "scenes" is really hard. I keep re-writing areas thinking I can make it better...alot like detailing itself! lol

Nick.....

All great ideas and I appreciate the input. Autographed eh? Who would of that someone would want my autograph?

I'll make sure you're one of the first to get one.....perhaps I'll send you a un-released version so you can review it.
