Comcast.... :angry

Only problem with any of the satellite services is the internet connection or lack there of for a decent price. I'd say give Comass another chance as I've been the baby bell route and that's no better and the connection is slower.

I dropped verizon dsl for comcast cable. verizon is bar none the worst i have ever had. comcast works flawlessly for me, also have cable/hd/dvr with them as well, never had an issue with service. in fact our local service center is the best customer service i have ever had with that type of company.

In my last home, I had DirecTV and Verizon DSL. I was very happy paying around $30 for my DSL and $90 for just about every channel DirecTV offered. I never had a single problem although installing the DirecTV took extensive time. I had the TiVO box and needed to run a new wire to several sets to take advantage of the dual tuner feature of the box. When I moved I found I could not get DSL at my new home. So, I decided to switch to Comcast cable and internet. I definitely pay more for less channels and have had tons & tons of problems with my service. The best part is each technician who shows up gives me a different diagnosis of the same problem.

When my Comcast services work, they are great. I get pretty decent download speeds:

Download Speed: 7192 kbps (899 KB/sec transfer rate)-Atlanta server

Download Speed: 7200 kbps (900 KB/sec transfer rate)-Chicago server

The problem is how long it takes to get them out when there is a problem.

I have cable (Wide Open West) and have had no problems over the 3 years I have had them. Curently, I am running 6101 down/610 up.

I have Comcast now and hate it. The service is so mediocre for our $110.98 bill for cable internet and BASIC cable :(.

In my next place (can't mount satellites at my apt. complex), I will be going the Satellite route. Not only is the cable digital (not Comcast's crappy digital converter), it includes internet and unltd. phone service for around $100. From there, I would just tweak my Mozilla to make it faster :).

Where I live we have our own cable company and have no other choices. I hate it! The cable is sooooo freaking slow and it makes me Vonage line sound like crap! I am really thinking of switching over to speakeasy.net
