color sanding....no circular polisher...only PC

I want to try color sanding...I have a junkyard hood that I would like to try this on...will the PC, a wool pad, and 3M Perfect-it II medium or fine cut rubbing compound work to remove the sanding scratches, or do I have to buy a circular polisher like the DeWalt 849 or the PC 7428 and a more agressive compound...

Thanks

If you do the colorsanding with the 3M 2000grid sanding paper & plenty of soapy water as lube,

the fine-cut compound by hand, followed with 3M Machine-polish either by hand or PC should do the job.

Work in small sections

check your work often

never rush , take your time.

As was said the PC will be fine. I used my PC to finish after wet sanding ealier this month, with no problems. Started 1500, followed with 2000 then PI-III RC with ornage pad and then PI-III MG with polishing pad. Awesome results, better than the painter.
